And in addition to being part of her legacy, I think it might be first (only?) anthology of sfnal stories featuring sex workers as the protagonists. Let’s get that back in the record, shall we?

One day I'm going to have enough energy to write the explainer for why the Moon-forming collision does not constitute an enemies-to-lovers relationship for the Earth and Moon, instead of tormenting my colleagues with my opinions

Reading a book on horror literature in the ancient world and suddenly I’m learning all sorts of very technical terms for various types of cannibalism: anthropophagy, which means eating humans whether by another human or something else, and teknophagy, eating one’s own children. Aah, Greek mythology!

Clyteum seems based on Clytius, assuming it's for example based on something like Uranium with Uranus.

Black and white ink drawing of a man-eating Yeongno. It has a masked face resembling an anteater and is playing a willow flute. It also wears a traditional gat hat . It's body is serpent like and covered in fine fabric with some scale patterns. From the fold of the fabric several human arms sprout, appearing to be trying to flee or plead.

For some reason, I think a lot about the Yeongno, a figure of the traditional Korean Talchum masked dance. It has to eat 100 rich and greedy people to regain its celestial form and return to heaven. #sketchbook #mythology #folklorecreature

Cultural depictions of spiders - Wikipedia

Anansi the African trickster god is a big one, the Japanese spider woman Jorōgumo, also the Tsuchigumo; assume "got turned into a spider" is Ovid's Arachne? There's plenty here if you care to browse - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultura...

In which a student feels strongly about the feelings of Helen of Troy (whom we are putting on trial).

"Can I request, although I’m sure a lot of other people may have, that I please not be on the prosecution team. I simply cannot utter a word against Helen."

An illustration of a boar accompanied with this text:
Celtic Beasties: Enamel Pins & Stickers

Twrch Trwyth was an Irish King who was turned into a boar as a punishment. He appears in the legend of Culhwch and Olwen. Olwen’s father (the Giant Ysbaddaden) required a task to win his blessing for Olwen’s marriage: they were to obtain a comb, scissors, and razor buried deep in the mane of Twrch Trwyth, then use those to cut and treat Ysbaddaden’s hair.

Twrch Trwyth had laid waste to a third of Ireland before King Arthur’s army even found him. They fought him there for eleven days before Twrch Trwyth led Arthur’s men on a chase across the sea to Wales, through England, and down into Cornwall. The boar wrecked havoc and inflicted many casualties along the way. Twrch Trwyth was defeated, but all the mightiest warriors, hunters, and legendary hounds fighting alongside King Arthur still could not slay this legendary boar. He escaped into the sea near Cornwall, living to fight another day. Many faeries can be dangerous to humans, but not Róisín. She is every bit as sweet as she looks. Crodh Mara are faerie cows. They look like and act like normal cows, and are typically hornless. One thing that sets them apart from regular cows is that they live underwater, only coming ashore to graze on land.

One day, sweet Róisín was doing just that when she heard a couple of farmers bemoaning the terrible blight that had struck their crops that season. The blight extended for miles around, so many people were on the brink of starvation. Róisín decided to follow one of the farmers home.

When the farmer realized that Róisín could provide seemingly endless amounts of milk with ease, he spread the word to everyone in the surrounding towns. The farmer’s children made Róisín the flower crown she wears to thank her for saving their community. He may look silly, but underestimate Lorcán at your own peril! At least… once he gets a little bit bigger. Lorcán was just a wee tadpole not too long ago, so right now he poses more of a threat to squirrels and fish than humans and livestock. Llamhigyn y Dŵr can allegedly be found lurking in swamps and ponds around Wales. These giant, carnivorous frog-like creatures let out a blood-curdling screech to paralyze prey before leaping out of the water to eat them. If something survives this initial attack, Lorcán can use the venomous stinger on his tail to poison his would-be meal. Beware!

Our first two stretch goals are unlocked, and we are very close to funding Twrch Trwyth’s enamel pin! Here is his bio, along Lorcán and Róisín (the two that are now unlocked).

You can find more of Twrch Trwyth’s lore in our most recent KS update– link in bio.

Looking to gauge interest for an anthology pitch centring sapphic goddesses and monsters.

Settings to include urban fantasy, political fantasy, historical fantasy and any combination limited only by imagination.

Please share & comment! Needless to add, cis- and transwomen are equally women ❤️

"I love summer!"
"I love summer. There is magic in the light of it. I am sure that something is bound to happen."
"Lange, Lange... Lange basking in the light..."
"My lovely brother!"
"- Lange, you're such a romantic!"
"- Oh, Jose! So you're here this year too. Is that one of your playmates?
- No! This is my brother!"

lot's of boy-joy in illustrations of different scenes of summer fan in flora and water "According to my grandmother, flowers bloomed there all year round.
All year round...
All year round...
A place where flowers bloom.
Do the spirits hide themselves in the shadows of time, and awaken to the light of the midnight moon...

What's wrong, Lange? I'll lend you my hat. Let's pick flowers for the dead gardener.

- Look at me. Are you afraid of it? That rundown shack?
*T/N: Men in Greek mythology who were renowned for their beauty. Upon their deaths, either flowers grew in their place or their blood transformed into flowers."

Boys in nature holding flowers and each other. Dark-slim one and younger-blond-childish.

I recommend my nearly-award-winning #shortfilm I made in HS (2004) w/ #DP Matt Emerick, which I wrote, starred in & directed.

I was told we won 1st @ the inaugural (as it turns out, only) #TheWoodlands #FilmFestival, if I’d agree to dub over/change/cut 2 lines, & I wouldn’t 😆
