Utilities Asked for a Lot More Money From Ratepayers Last Year A new PowerLines report puts the total requested increases at $31 billion — more than double the number from 2024.

Heat in the winter is NOT A LUXURY ITEM. Yet for-profit utilities with monopoly power are doubling rates on a captive customer base. It’s time for utility accountability. Not more corporate profits.

What Your Gas Stove Is Doing To Your Health Induction stoves beat out gas stoves on health and the environment. Gas stove manufacturers are challenging a CO law to warn consumers about gas stove health concerns.

Sharing info to protect public health shouldn’t be controversial. Delighted to see three new states with bills to add warning labels on gas stoves, alerting families to “NO2, benzene, & other harmful pollutants.” The gas industry is fighting to block them.

Electric grills are a climate-friendly option to fossil fuel grills Grilling usually involves burning fossil fuel. But some manufacturers are offering electric grills and citing climate change and convenience as reasons to switch.

Summer grilling usually starts with filling a propane tank or buying a bag of charcoal briquettes. But some people are ditching these fossil fuels for a more climate-friendly electric grill. My story for @npr.org: www.npr.org/2025/05/23/n...

Gas utilities make more $ replacing pipes than selling gas. We’re paying for gas infrastructure we don’t need.

The #NYHEATAct would cap bills, stop expansion, and fund clean heat when it’s cheaper.

"Make America Healthy Again" is dead There is nothing RFK Jr. can do at the Department of Health to make up for what's happening at the EPA.

Robert F. Kennedy can remove all the seed oils from all the food in America.

It’s not going to make up for dismantling Mercury Air Toxics standards, undoing car and truck pollution restrictions, rolling back chemical safety regulations, and otherwise covering the country in fossil fuel pollution

“I don’t want to sell this. To who? No one should own this. The fact that I have to do this with my team is not OK. Part of this is out of spite. I’m angry that I’m here having to do this, and the government hasn’t spent the money to do this themselves,” Mills says. “So, no, it’s not for sale. No, I’m not open to change all of a sudden, and I just don’t give a shit.”
