24.09.2025 12:21 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ten years ago today, the legend Guns showing us his marvellous repartee masquerading as rugby. He had it all, the Serevi hitchkick, the tumble and the knock on. Did he ever tell you he scored in front of 12.000 people at Sixways? A rugby legend/comedian and an absolute God mate. RIP legend x
12.09.2025 11:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In October 2022 with widescale discussion with multiple members' forums and the Board's consideration - we published our position against reductions. In April 2025 I produced a report titled "The Start of the Inevitable March to Irrelevance".
What's really changed?

Thank you and fair points. With respect to alternatives, my financial review indicated vast scope for ECB reductions as supported by many Chairs at the time, ignored. That alongside equity issuance at ECB level would have been far smarter in my view. It certainly would have been more equitable.

The conclusions I believe are far reaching. It is too premature to believe any saviour narrative...

"Without radical reform of the ECB's cost structure β which has regrettably not occurred to this point βit has further ballooned under the current leadership β this will have an adverse effect on future distributions post-2029 for the professional and recreational game."
11.05.2025 10:47 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0"I fear when changes to the county structure occur and how future broadcast rights are sold, it will be sadly too late for some counties to react and remain relevant."
Ex-Worcestershire chair Fanos Hira reflects on the implications of the sale of equity in The Hundred sides.

I discuss the strategic inflection point for the game, misconceptions about near-term 'salvation' funding, the vital importance of future broadcasting rights, the implications of likely changing fixtures schedules, the uncertainty of future distributions and the need for reform.

Thank you Lewis a very balanced and objective view. You must gather your thoughts and type so quickly! Keep smashing it as you consistently do.

Is the ECB solving the right problem? For all the furore about what's happening at the RFU - the ECB should not escape historic and current scrutiny.

Interesting 'reported' development with the putative sale of The Hundred by @elizabethammon.bsky.social in @thetimes.com yesterday. This follows some exaggerated/sensationalist commentary and financial information publicly shared by Lalit Modi.

A deeply moving interview. My heart goes out to PJ and all the other victims of this ghastly man. Consistently brilliant journalism by @cathynewman.bsky.social
