Could it be something to do with just how few contact hours they get these days with experienced teaching staff?

Unusual pattern.
You bastard.
Thatβs years of therapy thrown away.
I was there. And the foodβ¦.
A burger meant a Wimpy.
Pub food was stringy chicken in a basket that was never properly cleaned.
A βposhβ meal out was a Berni steak and Black Forest Gateau.
Itβs astonishing that so many of us survived.
Ha, thanks Sean. I could reply in kind with your Billable Hour etc.
28.11.2025 20:09 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You do wonder in which sphere of influence UKIP/Reform see themselves.
28.11.2025 16:03 β π 3 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Very pleased to be sponsoring this exciting initiative which I hope will be taken up and rolled out more widely.
28.11.2025 15:42 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0Agreed. I tend to think the worst discrimination etc comes before hiring decisions, so the need for statutory protections during a probationary period would be more limited and hopefully the reduction from 24 to 6 wonβt be the limit of the ambition for employment improvements.
28.11.2025 15:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0When Reform buys ads in the Telegraph, Mail etc, that's not really "spending", any more than when as a child I used to buy presents for my parents with their own money. There's a narrow circular right wing economy fueled by some opaque foreign sources.

The European Union brought in a βright to repairβ law to help consumers insist on products lasting longer.
Just one of many reasons behind covert funding of attacks on the EU.
Perhaps someone should explain to the rich that the great thing about tax is - itβs tax deductible.
27.11.2025 20:59 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Has anyone passed the news back to his cell that what he thinks is a private journal is regularly being published?
27.11.2025 20:47 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I never understood the ambition for Day 1. Most people would expect a no-fault probationary period for any serious job. Meanwhile even the worst employers would struggle with having constant 6 month turnarounds. And experience of benign impact should allow them then to reduce the 6 to 3.
27.11.2025 20:45 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I donβt understand why the reduction of the qualifying period from 24 to 6 months isnβt seen as a significant achievement.

27.11.2025 19:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I always thought it poetic when at Byline in Dartington, that some of our events, with a focus on genuine free speech rather than confected outrage, were in a room named after the father of that nepo-baby.
27.11.2025 19:11 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Though, we never have seen you both in the same room.
27.11.2025 18:44 β π 22 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Rather throwing down the gauntlet there, isnβt he?
Iβm not convinced he has an endgame here.
Possibly, though rather disappointing/surprising that Evan seemed to think billionaires pay much tax anywhere or that their ownership or not of large properties here contributes a great deal to our economy.

And why not.
Just ask Waitrose for their customer delivery lists.
27.11.2025 17:57 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0BUT, once again the way they handled it?
Why not say to the speaker: "look we are fine with you recounting facts but does your unevidenced opinion really add anything, or just make it look like we are pursuing some vendetta"?
Surely that could have been resolved before broadcast with a little wit?
FWIW, I'm not too exercised about BBC deleting those "corrupt Trump" comments.
If they were suppressing hard evidence of wrongdoing that would be concerning. But merely editing out an expression of pure opinion, less so.
I get why having just resisted litigation they might not want to fan flames.
This might be the best article I have read via Bluesky this year.
I am wiping my search history.
Maybe.
Or maybe the court realises this will be a judgment which requires a βstrong benchβ.
Courts can be like the first dance at Jack Rabbit Slim: you never can tell.
Yes I saw some brief posts but did I maybe miss something lengthier?
