1. Michigan
Horrocks is the best grocery store IYKYK. It has ruined regular grocery stores for me. Plus other excellent stores with relatively lower prices.
Also I can't explain why but Michigan's Meijer stores are just better than in other states. The urban layouts in GR and Lansing are nice too
2. Ohio
Huge boost from Heinens here. Some other miscellaneous nice stores but Heinens is really the core.
3. Illinois
A lot of neat stores but none have everything I need. I have heard that Mariano's was better before Kroger bought it.
4. New York
This would probably rank higher if I lived on the Wegmans side of the state. Hannaford was nice when I lived there but when I go back I realize it's just ok.
Also you can't get wine at grocery stores in NY. Just a bad place for groceries, folks.
