Sarah is being recognized for her work in computational biophysics, including rigorous studies of intrinsically disordered proteins, mechanistic insights into protein allostery, and the development of molecular simulation methodologies that expand the scope and precision of biomolecular modelling.
This award recognizes an individual within the first 10 years of an independent appointment who has made outstanding contributions to biophysics in Canada and is emerging as a leader in the field.

Provided insights into the shape of the lncRNA RMRP & identified two motors — DDX5 and DDX3X — that help it reach the mitochondria. Without them, RMRP is trapped in the nucleus, disrupting mitochondrial genes.
