This small stone was found at Temple Breccan on Inis Mór. The stone bears an Irish inscription:

OR[ÓlT] AR BRAN N AILITHER

'Pray for Bran the Pilgrim'.

It is likely to date to c.8-10th century. You can see it on display in the National Museum of Ireland.

How about: the reward is split differently, half to the receiving museum, the other half split between finder & landowner. That would be a bit more responsible, and still give the landowner/finder a nice windfall.
