Aujourd’hui on a perdu un vulgarisateur scientifique hors pair qui a entouré une partie de notre vie avec des mots pour nous faire comprendre l'humanité et l'infini. Tchao Hubert Reeves. Tu va manquer au Québec et à la planète.

On joue à Warhammer 40k Darktide avec les amis @cyriloo.bsky.social et Guifou (pas encore sur Bluesky). Visuellement le jeu fourmille de détails, l’action est cool bien qu’un peu confuse (et répétitive) et l’arborescence des talents (les niveaux quoi) ne comporte que peu d’explications. Du fun.

Oui. Bon après c’est pas de la grande SF non plus hein.

Bon ben voilà, j’ai fini « La société protectrice des Kaijus » de John Scalzi. J’ai trouvé ça fun et fluide, et cela m’a un peu fait penser à certains romans d’aventures pseudo scientifiques de Crichton (auteur du Parc Jurassique notamment). Bref un roman « ride » qui se lit bien d’une traite !

Not so much no. Every gamer son PS5 don’t buy every PS5 exclusives. But a COD “live” game make more money on the not so long run. And this money doesn’t go in Sony pockets. Actually it’s going to go in MS’s ones.

We are in agreement globally ;-) But I think you put too much emphasis on the “players” as being one entity. Players can be attracted by diverse offering, and an install base like the PS5 can sustain multiple live games, albeit they are sufficiently different in genre and scope.

I don’t agree with that. The last first party exclusive to come out was in April. That’s a long time ago for gamers. And what will be the next truly “cultural” one to came out ? A good “live” game could continue emptying gamers pocket while they wait for the next “big” thing.

30% of a finite amount of sales, declining rapidly after the first months of release. 100% of in game revenue as long as the GaaS exist is a better deal. Even if it is difficult to break in. We will see how well the GaaS “The Last Of Us” end up to be, it will be a good reference point.

A product philosophy that is not really working anymore, with skyrocketing budgets to make those games. Actually those “in-games” revenue that exist on “live” games does not work for first party games, and Sony need this money to buy exclusivity deals and make games. To sell PS5 and so on…

Those are not first party games. I think you raise a good point about PS5 commitments to games (live or not by the way). But I stand by my comment, Sony need at least 2/3 “live” games in the portfolio. So having 12 games in development to find 2 or 3 great ones is a good ratio.

You know that they need the money those games make ? I don’t LIKE Ryan, but this shift is a market one.

Dans la série « je raconte ma Life », hier soir on a vu David Castello-Lopes sur scène pour son spectacle « Authentique » et c’était drôle, malin, beau et très bien écrit. Je vous encourage à aller le voir si il passe près de chez vous.
