i did end up doing more changes than i planned to, process wise, but only because the producer i'm taking over for was already planning the changes, so i just slapped a framework on it to help them out.

i mean, not a lawyer, but it would depend how you word it probably. opinion is generally protected, while stating it as a fact isn't. that said, public figures also have a higher bar to clear to prove defamation.

all that being said, i'm not a lawyer and haven't dug suuuper deeply into the law (particularly since it's in swedish). and i'm definitely no swedish lawyer.

its not a particularly easy bar to clear. as i understand it, you kind of have to be saying it specifically to damage them.

it is also defensible if it is both true AND justifiable (i.e. reasonable basis to say it + in the public interest to be shared). truth alone not necessarily enough.

when i first learned this i thought it was insane. imagine being prosecuted for saying a true thing about someone!? but as the right side of the political spectrum drags the rest of us screaming into the abyss, i kinda get it.
