Really having to come to grips with the fact that the people who want to spend time with you will find a way to make time to spend with you, and the ones who don't make time, don't actually want to spend time with you despite the lip service they are paying.

Apparently a very great grandpa of mine was King Henry III, an English King from the Crusades.

That line (Plantagenet) eventually splits into the houses of York and Lancaster who fight each other over the War of the Roses.

Which is to say the primary concern of the American voter is, tragically (imo) the domestic economy, and lying about it only goes so far.

I'm really worried about when the lying runs out.

-trust in institutions like the BLS and the Fed by engaging in such overt political manipulation. A majority of the academic papers I studied cite figures shared by public entities like them, and more.

What this builds towards is Trump, and his ilk, getting away with lying about the economy.-

-can check those numbers in a way that is close to, but not exactly the same, way an article would be peer-reviewed before it made it Nature. I am not saying Economics can find the 'truth' in the way Physics does, but I am saying the process is the same. More importantly, Trump further erodes that-

There's a plethora of reasons the US enjoys the premier economy in the world. One of them is its transparency around reporting on its economic data. Most everything is shared not only publicly, but also in a manner that can be audited. Parties completely unaffiliated with the Federal government-

Everything Trump does is beyond terrible, but I feel like I have to say something about what's going on with him firing Erika McEntarfer, the commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and his on-going war with Jerome Powell, because I studied it in college and dream of a PhD in it.

I don't know how committed I am to this idea, because it is A LOT of commitment, and it's probably just an ADD impulse.

But I kind of want to climb to the top of Mt. Rainier...

After some research I think it was a family of tree swallows in that nest.

I think they've started moving south for the season, which happens late July/early August depending where exactly you are. I haven't seen them since taking those pictures.
