I like you guys. Now if you all would just goddamn wear a respirator inside, maybe I could get out of the house more. But I'm sure you mean it for the best and are just stunningly ignorant, not malevolent. Right? [padme] Right??

I think Trump knows exactly what he's doing with the shoes, it's another humiliation thing.

If it wasn't, they'd just rebuy the exact same Florsheim shoe in the right size and wear that. But they know he'd notice those aren't the clown shoes he gave them, so they can't do it.

Reading between the lines, I assume this is starting the gofundme for whichever staffer is willing to secretly replace his shoes with a half size up every three days and see just how far Marco can go.

Also, has anyone checked on Romney? Seems like he would want in on this.

I get the feeling we’ll be discussing Florsheim shoes today.

“Super Mario was based on an Italian man I saw die in an accident on a construction site. I thought to myself, ‘What if that man had been killed by a gorilla, rather than negligence?’

The public health field has bent over backwards to assuage the ‘concerns’ of anti-vaxxers for almost 3 decades now. It’s not working.

The way forward is stigmatizing these child-killing freaks and mandating that every kid gets a jab. Expand access, sure but that’s not going to move the needle.

It’s true that vaccine access could be improved but these challenges haven’t significantly worsened over the last 10 years. Vaccine hesitancy has.

The problem is misinformation and public health researchers pretending otherwise is not helping.

Most liberals have no idea that the NY Times is a problem. Liberal/Dem leaders rarely criticize the Times (or any media) so people assume it’s okay. We have a serious media literacy problem on the left.

"Stop the doomerism! You guys are overreacting! " they said, to the people who had accurately predicted everything that has happened for the past decade.

DC folks actually sort of need to demand that heads roll over this. It’s a real problem if law enforcement in the capital is so pathetic, weak, and supine that their instinct is to act as stormtroopers for illicit federal power grabs.

A handicap blue and white painted sign on the asphalt of a parking space. The symbols are meant to be a pregnant women and a baby stroller, but it doesn't look like that. It looks like pac man being killed with scissors next to a dancer

The Democratic leadership would prefer that you think of them as feckless cowards, when in fact they are Kissinger-like creatures who support massacring Iranians.

In Schumer and Jeffries's realpolitik, they get the war they want while letting the GOP pay the political price. Best of both worlds.

I'm no fancy political consultant, but, hey, if you're in Dem comms, you should notice that Fox News panicked over Trump wearing a cheap Trump merch baseball cap to receive the bodies of soldiers he got killed for no reason he can articulate, and you should absolutely lean into that.

Screenshot of an X post by Senator Tom Cotton saying Iran has been an imminent threat to the United States for 47 years and that the president was right to act. Below is a Fox News segment with Cotton speaking while footage labeled “U.S. Central Command – Unclassified” shows a strike.

“Imminent.” You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Look, the “fraud” isn’t fraud, just “crime” isn’t crime. It’s a stand-in for race. To be nonwhite is to be fraudulent, just as it’s a crime to be nonwhite. The press does not have to accept this coded language. Reporters can say what the regime means.

Congrats to Jack Hughes and the men's hockey team for confirming women's worst suspicions: that their public support is perfomative and behind closed doors they will sell women out and bond over shared misogyny.

Oh, and the plums in the fridge drawer are for my yogurt tomorrow; you should just leave them. Be back later! PERSON’S THOUGHT BUBBLE: Oh no. [caption] Help. It actually happened. I shouldn’t. But how can I not!?
