Yep, Picard does a good explanation of this to Lily in First Contact, but in the future humanity has progressed past money being a driving value in their lives and now are largely driven by the desire to explore passions. Money still exists in some societies (i.e. ferengi) but for earth? No.
A lot of people seem to be complaining that the new Star Trek is too 'woke'. But like...Star Trek is always 'woke' for its time. Being 'woke' is the most Star Trek you can be!

Why do I read Facebook comments on things? It's just depressing how little the average person actually engages with media past an initial surface glance.
Nothing annoys me more than someone telling me they'll do A Thing on a certain day and then...they do not. Bonus points if I have to slip in and ASK for an update, because I shouldn't have to do that and it makes me feel like an awkward, fussy asshole who is bothering people.

Watched the Snow White live action on Disney+ since it dropped and...it was just a complete nothing burger of a film. There was one memorable song and Rachel Zegler did a great job with it, but god what a pointless film that contributed nothing to cinema.
