Confusing Lands board game. It’s a “tile laying game” but the “tiles” are cards. The cards are playing cad sized and each features 6 equal sized squares of varying symbols (river, field, village, elk and a few scoring icons) all sitting on a brownish quartz countertop.

According to PEW, teens in households making under $75K are more likely to use chatbots for help with all or most schoolwork. I read a comment on another platform that said this is amazing news because we are "finally going to close the achievement gap." That is not how I would interpret this data.

My college-age kid just told me: "If rich parents, the same group of people that gobble up any and all opportunities to give their kids a leg up, aren't using it, that tells you everything you need to know."

Chromebooks are going to close the achievement gap! Learn-to-code programs are going to close the achievement gap! AI is going to close the achievement gap! [This shiny new tech thing that is funded by VC] is going to close the achievement gap!

Spend the money on a school librarian and a school library.

Much better than any tech or AI for achievement.

I think I have seen some or all of every Star Trek property in existence (minus Star Fleet Academy, which I'm getting to soon), and I have noticed that every time Star Trek tries to feature elements meant to appeal to in-universe children, they're really creepy.

"They proposed solutions such as building walls around the 18 & up literature section and requiring ID checks or keypad entry to access it."
