Both size and the number on it make me strongly suspect this part of a plumbing compression fitting, not a standard car part. Had a plumber in recently or done some DIY with plumbing?

A quick search suggests I'm in the right direction but not quite the right track. The station still is, but no longer a platform there due to station redesign.

I assume that they're the remains of the wall that was the back of a platform for a station that no longer is. Where the station name and adverts would have been in the large panels.
I could be wrong of course.
