You may laugh, but the Macbeths are a much better role model for a marriage than Romeo and Juliet. They discuss their problems (killing the king of Scotland), share their hobbies (killing the king of Scotland), and resolve their conflicts (by killing the king of Scotland).

Rep. James Talarico On Confronting Christian Nationalism, And Strange Days In The Texas Legislatu… YouTube video by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Well the FCC has bullied the Colbert Show into not airing an interview with James Talarico (which they've put on YouTube) — I look forward to all of my former professors at Scalia Law condemning this massive intrusion on the First Amendment.

Enterococcus faecalis redox metabolism activates the unfolded protein response to impair wound healing E. faecalis EET generates ROS, which induces the UPR in keratinocytes, inhibiting in vitro migration.

We’ve discovered how the superbug E. faecalis prevents chronic wounds from healing.

It’s not a toxin. It’s metabolism.

The bacteria use extracellular electron transport (EET) to electrochemically generate ROS, effectively "freezing" skin cells in place.

How have i not thought of this before! A meta-analysis of non-existent manuscripts (need new term for this, because they’re really not). The new gold standard in AI research, presumably 😂

but they can only advise/change laws proposed/initiated by lower house (HoL, that is), not propose agenda. Is that not the case in Ireland?

don’t know enough about irish to comment specifics, but would argue it’s not HoL role to talk to regular folks. They don’t make laws, they check that one’s initiated by elected guys (who should always talk to regular folks) work/are written as well as possible.

house of lords reform would be sooo much higher on my list of constitutional reforms. And no, a fully elected house is not the answer either. How about a house of experts appointed by interest groups (business, legal, medical, police, etc, etc)? - also appt for limited time and as full time job.

pensioners aside, i don’t understand the need to use valuation for this and council tax. Your property is worth what someone is willing to pay - why not tax accordingly and reevaluate council tax bands with each sale?

the @Liverpool example is unfair. 2.5% might well travel to work by train, but this doesn’t say how many ever get there!
