Was it good for business? Yes. But it was so much better for my soul.

While I might (enjoy) get(ting) in a fight over it, what it did for others is the important part. So. many. people. talked to us about themselves, their families, their loved ones. So many of them walked into our 10x30 ft world and smiled. Their shoulders relaxed. They took photos. They were happy.

The vendor came up multiple times to talk to us & eventually commended "our bravery." I know it was meant to be nice, and it was, but here's the thing. It's not brave. I have a poly family, but I'm not really in danger. The worst thing coming my way from the banner is a Karen - which I would relish

Listen I'm not good at character limits - We also had so many people come up with tears in their eyes to thank us for displaying them. One very sweet Grandmother wanted to "just give us money" to support us without buying anything. I "traded" her a trans pride sticker I had instead.

This past weekend another vendor asked how our "Protect Trans Folks" and "Abolish ICE" banners affect our business. Well, the people we want in the booth see them and feel safe. And the people we don't want in the booth...in order to keep the others feeling safe...fuck off. It's great actually

Mountain Monsters is 8 seasons of 6 rednecks chasing a 600lb monster in the woods until they find a kindergarten quality track & make a trap out of literal trash to catch it, then a guy who sounds like boomhower yells “hoorah” at least 3 times. So, what I’m saying is, I highly recommend it.

Yeah! From what I found, they came about during the wars (definitely WWI/II). There are some spiral versions that are more traditional.

Finished my February Socks - banana socks! Learned a bunch of stuff about heelless socks (woo! Hyperfixation!) These little weirdos fit anyone! And and and their heels last 3x as long because they rarely wear in the same place twice. Yarn is The Fool by @dyemadyarns.bsky.social
