This is the film turning fifty? Right? #jaws

While individual Borg seem to occasionally interact with others, for the most part, they are simply working as part of the Collective. As such, they have no agency. According to the most foundational definition of the zombie, the Borg are zombies!

Oy. I have thought about this a lot. Initially, as I began to work with zombies, I refuted cases of the possessed or the integrated, such as the Borg. However, as more and more variations of the zombie have seen acceptance, I have to start thinking of them at least as zombie adjacent.

That’s amazing! It is a very cool space in which to present.

The University of Heidelberg was so kind to bring me to town just to talk about #zombies for a couple of hours. I discussed the parallel attitudes toward government and authority in both zombie narratives and the United States today. It was so fun!
