Tell Roblox: Stop enabling child sex abuse! A recent lawsuit alleged something horrifying: Roblox--an online game platform used largely by minors--hosted digital “Diddy parties” and games where players must escape the notorious late child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The lawsuit cited a report by a Hindenburg Research group, which specifically describes a game called "Escape to Epstein Island," in which Epstein chases a young girl, and identifies over 600 games involving Sean "Diddy" Combs, including "Freak Off" role-play games. To say these findings are disturbing is an understatement. Roblox is not just normalizing sex trafficking but may be actively enabling it. It’s no secret that Roblox has a predator problem. Parents and experts alike have been sounding the alarm for years, and recent investigations have confirmed those fears, revealing frightening safety failures of the online gaming platform. Adults are chatting with 5-year-olds, inviting them into private locked rooms, and asking for their Snapchat details to continue grooming them on another platform. Children are accessing games simulating sex acts, Nazi content, and school shootings--all rated as "mild," or appropriate for kids. In 2023 alone, Roblox reported 13,316 instances of child exploitation and over 1,300 law enforcement requests. Unfortunately, this comes as no surprise given that, in 2024, the platform had more than 85 million daily active users, an estimated 40% of whom were under 13. We need to send a message loud and clear to Roblox’s CEO that ENOUGH is ENOUGH.
