St Paul's Church in Wales Primary School

Yesterday afternoon St Paul’s turned into a movie theatre! A huge thankyou to the PTA for helping to make movie night such a success for the children.

Year 6 used the bar model to help us with fractions today. It is amazing to see thinking mathematically!

In Year 4, we have started to explore the importance of Abraham to Christians and Jewish people using just 3 why questions. Da iawn, pawb!

Year 6 loved our first session with Cardiff city!

Year 6 used their designs to make models that they then animated!

Year 6 used the animals in the story of The Arrival to design their own creatures.

Year 2 had a wonderful trip led by David Hall @CardiffHarbourAuthority @CardiffBay yesterday to introduce our Inquiry question, followed by a boat trip around the bay. We practised our navigation skills and learning about Cardiff Bay. We enjoyed reenacting our boat trip back at school today.

To finish our first week, Year 6 used the images from The Arrival and patterns in the book to create our own artwork. #belong

In literacy, Year 6 have started the story The arrival by Shaun Tan. We have thought about our concept of belonging and written short burst descriptive passages! #belonging

In maths this week, Year 6 have been thinking about place value and representing our ideas in different ways. We have focussed on our journaling and explaining our thinking!

What a fantastic day out at Barry Island! Year 1 had a great time playing on the beach and learning about beach safety. A special highlight was visiting Zio’s, where they got a behind-the-scenes look at how ice cream is made! 🌊☀️🍦

Year 3 had a wonderful time on our trip today. Thank you to Cardiff Harbour Authority for inviting us to watch a fantastic production by The Lighthouse Theatre company to celebrate the 25th Anniversay of Cardiff Harbour. The children had a fantastic time. @CardiffBayOfficial

Finding maths in the world around us! This week, Year 4 explored our garden and forest school for symmetrical shapes and angles.

On Tuesday y6 learnt all about being safe near and at Cardiff Bay.

Year 6 had a wonderful day at the WMC. We were able to use sound and light equipment and even climbed to the rooftop!

Year 1 had a fantastic art workshop in the National Museum in Cardiff. We really enjoyed our day!

Year 3 have been learning about Sustainability. With a focus on D.T skills we worked collaboratively to create these wonderful bug hotels. We sawed, drilled, sanded and safely used lots of tools. You can tell from their smiles how much the children enjoyed it.
