The League of Women Voters of Williamson County will participate in National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, September 16. National Voter Registration Day is a nationwide, nonpartisan effort to register hundreds of thousands of voters. The League will be out at multiple locations throughout the county and available to assist voters who want to register or update their registration if they have moved. October 6th is the deadline to register or update your registration in Texas. Felicia Miyakawa, president of LWV of Williamson County, said voter registration is the first step to ensuring a resident's voice is heard. “Every eligible American deserves the chance to participate in this year’s pivotal elections,” Ms. Miyakawa said. "We want to make sure every eligible Williamson County voter who wants the opportunity to vote on Election Day is registered by October 6.

The reasoning (under a weird APA header) is uniformity in voter reg across diff ceremonies (why does that matter more than other equities?) & the burden to CIS of ascertaining that the voter registration orgs are non-partisan (but LWV has a nationwide footprint and is non-partisan by design).

I’ve seen LWV in action at all levels of gov’t & they are some of the finest guardians of democracy & good government America has. This is foolishness by CIS.
