This was so meaningful to me to be asked to draw 😭🖤 I still cherish it! (tho sometimes I look at it and want to redraw it all 💀)

From her bedroom ceiling's point of view, we look down on protagonist Faye, a teenaged goth girl, lying on her bed. She looks depressed. She's listening to music on a portable player, and hugging a cushion. Posters of female rock stars line her bedroom's walls and ceiling. Her floor is messy with various clothes. The furniture's cheap and old. It's also multi-purpose, to save space due to overcrowding in cities, and because she's poor. Her room is tiny and cramped. What looks like another small, portable music player lies on top of the bedside drawer, next to piles of SD cards. Her bed has a few stuffed toys on it, including a squishy romantic heart and a dog that looks just like Doggie Dogster. This is how she spends most of her nights, alone and in misery. This is her story.

A while back, I wrote Identity because I got tired of seeing cis people ask "If you could change your brain instead of your body, would you do that instead?"
