Good to know! Yeah I ended up using the limiter within the compressor to get it sounding decent. Didn’t want to go brick wall but a little bit certainly helped!

Did it all within Logic, using the DAW to apply the mastering effects once I bounced the mix

Thanks again to folks who offered advice, here and elsewhere

Probably far off from what a pro mastering would be, but much punchier and finished sounding than the raw mix

I’ve ended up trying to “master” the mixes I’ve got for my project so far. Using a little eq as I mix, and then using light compression and limiting on the final step has made something that sounds good to my ears, loud yet keeping the dynamics and feel of what I’ve mixed.

Maybe a Springsteen song, like “dancing in the dark” I seem to remember a professor using that as an example in a critical theory class. Darned if I remember the particular insights tho

I’ve had good experiences in the past couple of years using the Bandcamp Live feature to stream a show. And I’ve got a decent handle of making the audio sound good. It’s fun and very low key.

Miles Davis’s trumpet solo on “Autumn Leaves” from the 1958 Cannonball Adderly album “Somethin’ Else” on Blue Note Records. This is my solo guitar interpretation this morning. It’s the first day of fall. A change is gonna come. 🍂

Canada still allows military goods to be sold to Israel, has yet to even recognize the genocide in Gaza, though it “strongly condemns” what is going on over there (wow, chilling). But it’s definite hardline action barring an Irish musical group from the country because we don’t tolerate terrorists.

So neat! He was my first rock concert when my dad took me to the newly opened GM place (now Roger’s arena) have fun!
