Un an après les mobilisations qui ont rassemblé des milliers de personnes, étudiantes et étudiants dans toute la France pour défendre la science comme bien commun, le combat continue.

New work in #ScienceTranslationalMedicine reveals how a drop in polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) and the enzyme ELOVL2 correlate with vision decline in aged mice—and shows that intravitreal supplementation of PUFAs can reverse vision loss and rejuvenate the retina. https://scim.ag/4pNNh3M

It’s incredibly hard to study lipids in biological membranes on the nanoscale. You need near-perfect information on both membrane ultrastructure and lipid density, which usually isn’t attainable. Lipid-CLEM brought to you by @mathilda95.bsky.social changes that.

Why are biological membranes asymmetric, with different lipids in the two bilayer leaflets? Discovered in the 70s, lipid asymmetry is linked to many cellular processes, but why the cell needs it is largely unclear. @pavelbarahtjan.bsky.social addresses this question: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
Been thinking about biomembranes? Wondering what next decade of research will be?
Wonder no more: there's an awesome conference coming up in Copenhagen in July!!
From simulations to cells and everything in between.

On my way home after 3 days full of great talks and lively discussions at Fort-Mahon-Plage. Thank you @clubexo-endo.bsky.social community, I had a blast!
We look forward to meeting again in Paris for the half-day meeting in November and for the next meeting in May 2026, which should be held in Aussois (Savoie, France).
The “family photo”. Thank you to all the participants who made this meeting so rich in science and exchange! Thanks to the organizers for the exceptional scientific program and the free time to discover the Baie de Somme. Do not hesitate to join the club!
Congratulations to Julie Beaucousin and Andela Petrovic who won the best poster presentation awards !!
To close the meeting, great talk of Juliane Da Graça, winner of the 2025 thesis prize, presented her work on the role of endosome-endoplasmic reticulum membrane contact sites in autophagy regulation in normal and cancer cells.
The prizes for best presentations went to Léa Ripoll for her work on adenylate cyclase and dopamine signalling in neurons and Quentin Frenger for his work on ATG16L1 and B cell antigen receptor trafficking. Congratulations !!
Great talks these two last days, including Marc Bitoun (Institut de Myologie, Paris) as keynote speaker who showed impressive data on allele-specific silencing therapy for centronuclear myopathy due to dyn2 mutations.
Both keynote speakers (Aylin Hanyaloglu, London and Sara Sigismund, Milan ) offered compelling insights into the spatial control of receptor trafficking and signaling dynamics, how cellular compartment and MCS shapes signaling outcomes. @cellbiology.bsky.social exoendo.org/evenement/27...
