It was very good. The third best of his partners

Kapanen right wing ? That’s a bit of a shocker

08.03.2026 19:42 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Absolutely

08.03.2026 19:41 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

We know. Doesn’t change the writing of it

His puck retrieval and then carry out is so good. Would like to see if he can impact that part

The goal is to NOT spend 2 minutes and 56 seconds in your own end before allowing a goal with an extra attacker.

08.03.2026 19:04 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

And, to add, shockingly impressive advanced stats.

All of the best partnerships this season have Hutson on it....

62 share with Dobson
65 share with Matheson

Yet Dobson and Matheson together 49.

Who is driving the bus?

This cherub.

Honestly, lol, that was exactly what I thought... how is it possible to be worse than the number of floaters that have scored on him from 55 feet

I encourage you to read this one. Lots of good numbers. Lots of homework. And some ideas too for MSL and KH who I have the utmost respect for.

Must read

Thanks for all those great stats on the goalies and defence. It sure meets the eye test.

What specifically Matt

A really good read offering solutions to Habs defensive woes.

Call of the Wilde: A much-needed comeback win for the Montreal Canadiens in Los Angeles - Montreal | Globalnews.ca The Montreal Canadiens staged a late-game comeback Saturday to beat the Los Angeles Kings, 4-2. But as wins go, this one was nothing to brag about.

The top line putting in stunningly good performances. The poor metrics for a D pair that don’t belong together. And the Wilde Cards answers the question is it the goaltending or the defence?

All for Global Montreal.

He's ready for a look. Yes.

As I said, Matheson and Guhle horrendous together.

They both have left side instincts.

Reinbacher can’t come soon enough. He’s levelling up. His time needs to be soon

08.03.2026 03:38 β€” πŸ‘ 43    πŸ” 3    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

In last night's COTW, I mentioned the last 100 goal line for the Habs was 1993 of Bellows/Damphousse/Muller.

With tonight's 3 goals again, the Suzuki line with Slafkovsky have 34 goals in 25 games. That's pro-rated 112 goals.

No need to mess with the chemistry of these three together

08.03.2026 03:07 β€” πŸ‘ 41    πŸ” 3    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 2

Reinbacher is playing tremendous hockey in Laval right now.

08.03.2026 03:02 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

2.44 updated at end

08.03.2026 02:48 β€” πŸ‘ 24    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

He is so cooked. Nothing left. Bad trade.

08.03.2026 02:46 β€” πŸ‘ 10    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 4    πŸ“Œ 0

Life isn't fair.

Life also had Dobes in net. He posts a GSAE 2.18 plus

08.03.2026 02:46 β€” πŸ‘ 47    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 5    πŸ“Œ 0

WTF is Danault doing

That was simply horrific

and I think it is why Dobes is yelling

08.03.2026 02:45 β€” πŸ‘ 65    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 15    πŸ“Œ 0

They got a top line. They don't need to look for a winger for Suzuki. He's already there. He's named Juraj Slafkovsky.

It's the second line that needs an infusion of talent.

For me, Demidov needs two guys still.

08.03.2026 02:40 β€” πŸ‘ 77    πŸ” 4    πŸ’¬ 12    πŸ“Œ 1

It's ugly out there folks

08.03.2026 02:29 β€” πŸ‘ 16    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 4    πŸ“Œ 0

Matheson and Guhle are horrendous together.

This club needs Reinbacher to be a top-four NHL D man so badly.

Matheson Dobson
Hutson Reinbacher
Guhle Carrier

Needs to happen

08.03.2026 02:29 β€” πŸ‘ 66    πŸ” 4    πŸ’¬ 11    πŸ“Œ 1

With that 22nd goal, Slafkovsky establishes a new career high in a season.

On the verge of breaking his points mark too. His best is 51. He sits at 50

08.03.2026 02:08 β€” πŸ‘ 36    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Even with that poor goal allowed, Dobes is the only reason they are in this game.

He is a Goals Saved Above Expected plus 1.58

08.03.2026 02:04 β€” πŸ‘ 51    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 5    πŸ“Œ 0

Dobes is a battler though.

He doesn't slump and let in another one. He keeps busting his ass, fighting.

He is not my favourite technical goalie by a long shot, but the guy battles.

08.03.2026 01:49 β€” πŸ‘ 92    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 8    πŸ“Œ 0

Goodness, such a good night for Dobes. That leaves a mark.

2-2 on a spinerama hope shot for Laughton from the side of the goal
