🗳 Far-right parties are growing increasingly hostile towards LGBTQ rights. In the European Parliament elections, 6–9 June, such parties are expected to make major gains
@grahn.bsky.social shows that non-straight voters might, through mobilisation, help keep far-right forces at bay

📯📯 I am happy to announce I defended my Ph.D. thesis!
Sincere thanks to my examiners @kristinabsimonsen.bsky.social & Thomas Chadefaux (@conflictresearch.bsky.social) for thoughtful questions and an engaging discussion about the arguments I presented
Still controlling for gender without thinking about why? You can cite me💚👩🔬💚
I show that the gender gap in progressive climate and environmental views is a persistent empirical regularity that cannot be explained by differences in socioeconomic background, political ideology, or risk aversion.
New paper out! Working with geospatial data is cool.
New paper out in the @thejop.bsky.social with @rafaelahlskog.bsky.social & @grahn.bsky.social
Your neighbours shape your politics — but can living near people like *cause* higher turnout?
We studied 20,000+ queer individuals across the entire Swedish population to find out

Join us the 17 February at @sns.it in Florence (and online) to discuss equality in academia!
Thrilled to share our new paper with amazing Agus.
We show that non-traditional families, especially open and age-gap couples, face substantial prejudice. Even LGB couples encounter bias, highlighting persistent inequalities in societies often seen as tolerant.
How do you measure the domestic mental load? 🧐
And how does your experience stack up against our research of 3,000 US parents?
I created a quiz using the same approach we use in peer-reviewed sociological research so you can find out!
Hope this sparks some conversations 💡

Ph-Done, as they say. I’m feeling relieved to be done, happy to have passed, privileged to have so many wonderful friends around me, tired after a hectic week, and excited for what comes next.
In our first paper on instrumental inclusion we showed that people update their views on LGBTQ+ rights in response to out-group threat.
Here we extend the theory to test diverse cases of selective inclusion

Had the pleasure to serve on the examination committee today at Lund University for @jwa.bsky.social brilliant PhD dissertation on feminist activist solidarity and mobilization in Egypt and Tunisia. An insightful work, rich both theoretically and empirically.
New publication with @turnbulldugarte.com in @psrm.bsky.social! 🧵
We study whether citizens’ liberal values are selective: do people support policies based on who promotes them?
Short answer: Yes, and it's driven by ethnic out-group disidentification. (1/11) 👇

This is a terrible move that will hurt the trans community as well as the Labour Party in the long term.
Friday brought good news and bad news. Today I am now allowed to share the good.
Via the generous donation of the Wallenberg Foundation and the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences, I now have a few million euros to help understand more about the selective inclusion of LGBTQ+ citizens
New article by @rmuriaas.bsky.social and I: While seniority can benefit all parliamentarians and serve as a powerful resource, it does not confer power equally. Women face structural barriers to accessing seniority, and even when they attain it, their legitimacy and influence remains contested.
New article out! 🔥
I’m excited to share our new piece on how political seniority works as a gendered informal institution that shapes access to power in parliaments.
The article draws on interviews with the French National Assembly.
