Often mental health is no important topic, neither in their clinical placement workplaces, nor in the education. Curricula are desperately in need to be changed to find nowadays problems. Sometimes in fact HCP´s are even afraid of seeking help for mental health issues (MHI´s) 4/6

Universities around Europe with #nursing BSc degree programs are aware of the problem and yet many programs are lacking fundamental basics of (self) mental health care.

In recent studies and in actual literature working in the health sector, especially as frontline worker, is often referred to "be at war". Phrases like "Who help the helpers?" are very common especially students and early career HCP´s.

Die Finanzausgleichsverhabdlungen haben wieder gezeigt: die #Pflege ist anscheinend egal. Geld wird in ein absolut kaputtes System gepumpt. Einen Vorgeschmack auf diese fatalen Entscheidungen gibt‘s schon. Mehr wird noch folgen & wir werden in absehbarer Zeit die Rechnung kriegen

Aber auch die eigene Profession muss endlich einsehen, dass wir uns nur als akademisierte Pflege endlich behaupten und entwickeln können. „Geht nicht, gibt‘s nicht“ - mit diesem Ethos sollten wir als professionelle Pflege endlich in div. Verhandlungen auftreten.

#Pflege verschrieben werden kann, als „Zugeständnis an die Profession“ von gewissen Stakeholder geframed wird, ist eine Frechheit. Bund, Länder, ÖGK und ÄK sollten endlich kapieren & akzeptieren, dass Pflege mehr kann als den Arsch abwischen.
