Eight years after the β€˜Puttaswamy’ privacy verdict, data protection remains a distant dream The question is whether India will honour the constitutional mandate or allow industry to kill it through a thousand exemptions

@nidhisingh.bsky.social writes for The Indian Express that eight years after the #Puttaswamy verdict, India’s #data protection journey remains stalled. Instead of implementation, exemptions risk hollowing out privacy protections before the law takes effect.

However, the success of AI initiatives critically depends on semiconductor manufacturing capabilities. While global players like Taiwan and the US are making strategic investments in chip production, India must develop its domestic capacity.

Society needs to have a conversation about technology - but how can we meaningfully consent to AI systems that even their creators don't fully understand? The future of consent needs dynamic permissions, regular check-ins, & clearer boundaries. Read more: www.goethe.de/ins/in/en/ku...

In my article for the Goethe Institute, New Delhi I discuss how consent works in relation to something that learns & evolves. The rise of AI assistants has turned consent from a simple checkbox into a complex relationship that affects not just you, but society as a whole. Time for an upgrade!

Remember when consent was just checking a box? Your AI assistant now knows when you stress-shop, your coffee habits, and maybe even your dating life. We need to rethink digital consent in an era where AI knows us better than we know ourselves. πŸ€– #AIEthics #DigitalPrivacy

Finally read Clytemnestra by Casati- it's been on the list forever.
It's good, didn't like it as much as Song of Achilles, but pretty close. The first 25% of the book is a little difficult to get through, but it gets pretty good after that. I guess the reimagined myths genre is really taking off
