It'll still run a lawnmower just fine after a few years sat in a shed, but you can certainly smell the difference and it's pretty smokey.
Context for others who also did a double take, the Metropolitan Police in London, UK have a budget of $5.91bn for a comparable size population. The entire police budget for the UK is $24.9bn.
I believe "wind your neck in" is the appropriate comment here.
This is from 1975.
(Where you know you should have bailed before the first 100 pages were up, but the friend that recommended it insists it gets better.
Halfway through book 8 you stop speaking to a lifelong friend because their taste in books is *so bloody bad*.
It keeps getting recommended to me and I think I'm good without.
I'm happy to read fluff fiction, romantasy, and many other things, but I just feel like I'm going to end up feeling like I've been Goodkinded.
For a lot of tasks, mobile banking doesn't replace it. However, because there was a drive to do leasebacks on real estate to fiddle the balance sheets they became subject to rapidly increasing rents.
There's still a lot of demand for the services, but the real estate costs make it marginal at best.
EU4 Strait Talking achievement? 😅
[Emperor Yingzong of Ming, 1449]: "We took a little excursion to Tumu because we felt we had to do that to get rid of some Mongols. I think you'll see it's going to be a short-term excursion. Short term. Short term!"

Is there a legal opinion on that? Unless they're putting the sub in danger by surfacing, I'm not sure that would be true as US subs have surfaced to render aid before.
Until there a clearer picture of what vessels were nearby to provide aid, it's hard to know.

In most cases, skipping the LLM and going straight to Stack Overflow at least lets you read the comments about why the top answer is nonsense.
I'm open to the idea of it being useful, I've just never found any use case for it. If it could properly document code it might serve a purpose, but I've had to decipher code from it and fix problems for people and I'm not sold.
It's not that AI is useless.
It's that AI is useful like asbestos was useful.
I've yet to see a use for LLMs that comes anywhere close to being as useful as asbestos though.
We used asbestos in everything because it has so many useful properties in so many applications and a lot of the replacements aren't as good. (Lead free solder is still not quite as good, but, well...)

The front fell off?
Oof, can't say I've ever had the displeasure.
The only person I know who ever tried to celebrate the Twelfth (in an office that was 30% Irish) by bringing in marmalade sandwiches got told in no uncertain terms never to do it again if they wanted to remain employed.
Cowboys or outlaws in the old west? 😅 They were more common than Stetsons.
I don't think I've ever seen one worn in the UK outside of a play.
Well, well.
