Today at preschool I gave an impromptu lesson I never expected to give: why we do not play hide and seek with a shrimp that we brought from home (for lunch).

Also, apparently the lunches I packed when my kids were little were way too boring!

Am I the only one who doesn't appreciate the trend of fast food restaurant drive throughs requiring significant merging?

The Ides of March is Saturday. I hope every single middle, high school, and college English class is studying Julius Caesar right now. You know, for cultural literacy purposes.

Mainlining pepto bismol and praying that I kick this stomach bug this weekend. I’ve been sick all week, and I still feel miserable.

Bizarre. I have a friend who has a LFL in her front yard, which is a middle school bus stop, and she keeps it stocked with a mixture of fun books and subversive kid/ YA lit, which is pretty awesome in Memphis, I think.

Thanks. I still feel terrible but we have power again, so that’s good. I’m praying we get more snow because I don’t feel at all well enough to go back to work.

Spoiler alert. I feel dramatically terrible. I don’t think I’m going back to work Monday. Maybe not all week. Every square inch of my body hurts.

I was just congratulating myself for making it through epidemics of flu an and norovirus at preschool, and I woke up coughing and aching and shivering and super queasy. Ugh. Hoping it’s short lived. Need to be back at work Monday.
