I am so happy ro share that two members of Haplab, @didemkatircilar.bsky.social and @boracelebi.bsky.social have been honored for their outstanding Work-in-progress posters at World Haptics 2025 in Suwon!

With so many beautiful memories behind us, I’m sharing my favorite photos from the beautiful city of Suwon, and looking forward to building on these experiences! Many thanks to organizers, reviewers, and attendees for their time and feedback!

🗝️ Key findings:

* Lower amplitudes felt more pleasant and less arousing.
* Vibrations on the back were less arousing and more pleasant than on the front or both sides (front and back).
* The perceived intensity of vibration seems to play an important role in shaping emotional experiences.

Briefly, we investigated whether people learn to associate neutral vibration patterns with boredom and stress. If so, would this influence their time perception. Shortly, we showed associatively learned boredom but not stress modulates perceived time.

Stretching Time With Velvet: How Affective Materials Shape our Perception of Time Research has shown that affective visual and auditory events (e.g., a crying baby) are perceived as lasting longer compared to neutral ones. However, the impact of affective haptic experiences on time...

Thrilled to share our new findings on material timing, combining my interests in affective touch, material perception, and timing! Our temporal bisection experiment shows that pleasant materials extend perceived duration compared to neutral ones.

These results offer important insights for our EU-FET OPEN project ChonoPilot where the overarching goal is to manipulate human time perception using multimodal stimulation. Great work Bora!
