Last-minute gig idea! A knock-off VHS that looks a bit like a classic Disney cartoon:

I love it so much. It really felt like they used the concept of a prequel to Trojan horse a new timeless family classic. I hope it ensures because it deserves to.

"This promise of an AI future, is really just a collective anxiety that wealthy people have about how well they're gonna be able to control us in the future."

- @tressiemcphd.bsky.social with an absolute mic drop moment about AI bullshit.

Incredible words.
Listen to all of it!

With the New Year fast approaching, now would be a good time to watch my web series - about one man's journey to being better and running 15K.

That's exactly it! Some already have... And if people aren't discerning about the information they take in, what's to stop them from engaging with AI 'art' without question? All very bleak.

You're doing quizzes wrong, Mark. Get with the times. The trick is not having to think, from the minute you get there to the minute you leave.

I wish I had. It really made me think 'I'm not sure your opinion is valid anymore'. How do you look someone in the eye if they're farming out every aspect of creative thinking?

These were creative people, too. People who have to come up with ideas and assess the most effective way to structure messages and meanings. Now they use ChatGPT as a one stop solution for any and every thought.

Was at a pub quiz the other week. When it came to deciding the funny team name, two of the group immediately went to Chat GPT. A small, fraction of a thing that could have got a discussion going and even created a chuckle, gone. In favour of not giving it another thought. Ugh.

A pathetically LinkedIn-ish announcement from George 'Austerity' Osborne, claiming that he had a right good think about what job he wants and decided OpenAI were the only choice. Because of some vaguely wanky reasons and something about the people who run it not looking like completely desperate manure sales man reaching bonus day. The cuntyest bunch of cunts there is.

An image of Michael La Vache in a turtle neck sweater with his finger over his mouth in front of a sign that reads 'CryptoFascist'. The caption reads 'He is now President of Global Affairs for the digital currency software firm CryptoFascist. Based at their head office in Dildo, Sillycunt Valley.'

Because even in satire, I knew not to go overboard.

"Around 16% of people regret getting a tatoo," the offer reads, "less than 1% of people regret gender affirming surgery."

Harry Potter tattoos.

Higher regret rate than trans affirming care.

Going into 2026, a reminder for everyone who's fallen off the creative wagon, game dev, writing, art, music, whatever, no matter how long:

One of my all-time favorite clips of Rob Reiner, from his Friars Club Roast in 2000, as he reads aloud Roger Ebert's infamous scathing review of his movie North. The man had an amazing sense of humor about himself. RIP.

When Rob Reiner was on his all-time epic run at the start of his career, he had an opportunity to read a script that was looking for a production partner, and he lost his mind for it. He decided Castle Rock had to have it, no matter what.

For the record, Robin Ince is a superb comedian, an absolute mensch, a remarkable thinker and the kindest human you’ll ever meet. And the BBC is a genuinely great and globally unique institution that needs to stop being afraid. I think that’s where most of its faults and issues stem from.

From 2019-2022, I made several web series charting the career of inept politician, Michael La Vache. A fun, silly project that got me out of a creative funk.

I've started adding them to my blog with thoughts on how they came about. If that sounds interesting, check the thread and links below πŸ‘‡

Thanks, Matt.

For the vast majority of us, the joy comes from the exploration and the process, and that's something A.I can never replicate. But if companies and audiences continue to support slop, and that squeezes the few opportunities still available, where do creators go? It's terrifying.

11.12.2025 15:41 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I think there's a definite fear that, by not taking it up and cutting those corners, you further hobble yourself at a time when it's already hard to get noticed/succeed/earn a living creatively. As usual, it's for decent people to make the right moral decision even if it means limiting your chances.
