Cracking open...a cold one...with the boys?
Okay we're less than a week out (this coming Thursday) so one other thing: I would love this dumb little Shinn Asuka from the "Gundam SEED Destiny Pajamars" lineup of blind box figures. Tried two pulls, didn't get him, cutting my losses there.
(It was fuckin wimdy yesterday and a decent chunk of the city is still knocked off the grid, it's not just us, don't worry)
We haven't had power at home for twelve hours now so we're at the diner for breakfast and wifi.

I tried using a lot of angular parts and getting them to work together in ways they probably weren't supposed to, so I had fun. It's got articulated landing gear, too!
The staff was even kind enough to add our builds to the display in one room, that was real cool of them.
Now that I'm home, the context: went to a LEGO event this evening and did a few different things before settling in and building a spaceship with friends. Despite having the same parts at our disposal we each came up with something radically different.

Normally I'm pretty good about remembering all my pending and/or pre-orders but when this dropped in early August after the last FGO Fes I was busy trying not to die of heat exhaustion.
I had completely forgotten I ordered this plush but it showed up at my proxy today, what a pleasant surprise.

Red Jacket Lupin is remarkable in that it's 155 episodes and covers more or less the entire scope of human emotion. My wife and I have unintentionally memorized most of our favorite episodes' numbers for easy reference in conversations that are completely incomprehensible to anyone else alive.
Obviously Galaxy Express is the big role for Ikeda Masako but I didn't realize she was also in one of my favorite Lupin III Part II (red jacket) episodes? Episode 58, it's a particularly good one for Jigen.
Guess I should break into my new 999 set sometime soon.
Voice actress Masako Ikeda, best known for her role as Maetel in Galaxy Express 999, has died at 87.

That's also true, I watched the latest(?) movie recently-ish and Kusao Takeshi absolutely knocks it out of the park. I think he's kinda underrated as a voice actor, tbh, somehow, despite being literal Cress Albane.
