In January 2018, exactly a year after a certain inauguration, I snuggled a baby goat at a resistance meetup at a local brewery.

So far, 2025 is too short on baby goats.

I’m taking Monday morning, as I often do, to get organized so I can feel centered, which helps me stay curious, open, gentle, kind, compassionate, and better able to discern what needs my reactions. I find a decadent treat helps this process.

The constitution (in both English and Spanish) has been removed from the site. The English “Error 404 – page not found” landing page has a button to click that says “Go back to the home page”. The Spanish page has a button that just says, “Go home.”

The whitehouse dot gov website has been replaced with war movie-style propaganda complete with a short video with Hunger Games vibe-y music.

This is all so absurd it boggles the mind, but also gives me a reeeeally bad feeling.

LGBTQ+ humans have been around for all of time, on every inhabited continent, and in many cultures were/are revered. Let us remember this down to our souls.

Today, I'm acutely aware of the pain my trans and nonbinary friends are in, so it seems like a good time to share this love letter AGAIN. I've shared it at least every LGBTQ+ History Month since it was published. Reading it anchors me.

Is the world falling apart? Yeah.

Is everything gonna get harder for at least a bit? Yeah?

Will we still create beauty, hope, love, connection IN SPITE of that to defy the darkness? Yeah.

Whatever. Maybe FB won't recommend my page, but that doesn't stop you from doing so. Feel free to invite your friends. Maybe like my profile pic and cover photo. I might change them later, but I might not. Or, follow me here. I’m too verbose for this platform, obvs, but we’ll find a way.

Is that what this is really about? Is it the rainbows? Did a bunch of people recently report that account because they are intolerant of me and my work? Are we to assume the rumors are true and that FB is going to do more limiting of the rainbowy-types of creators?

Both photos have image descriptions in them, and there is nothing that violates their content standards. My profile pic is a picture of me wearing sunglasses and smiling, and my cover photo is a collage of flowers arranged in a rainbow pattern. And, of course, there is no way to appeal it.

I got notifications this morning that my page could no longer be recommended.

Why?! Because FB automatically flagged my profile pic and cover photo as UNSAFE. Literally, they have a "sensitive content" warning over my pics.
