its usual chatter. He rocks them back and forth, and the morning slips by like this, gently and lovingly. They delve into languid kisses, & Lan Wangji dutifully holds his entire world in his arms. His home. His everything.

“I love you, Lan Zhan.”

“Mn. I love you, Wei Ying.”

They spend the next moments in each others embrace as Lan Wangji dutifully feeds his love by hand, making sure Wei Ying eats every piece of food.

Wei Ying is cradled against his chest once he’s done feeding him, and Lan Wangji attentively listens as his husbands mouth begins

Lan Wangji goes soft as their eyes meet.

“Good morning.” Wei Ying whispers as they gaze into each others eyes. They linger in that blissful, tender moment for a little bit until Lan Wangji reaches for the warm cup of tea and brings it to Wei Ying’s lips.

“Lan Zhan, must you feed me so early er-gege.” Wei Ying pouts pathetically.

“Wei Ying.”

Lan Wangji kisses his Wei Ying’s face until the other fills the room with his sleepy giggles. Lan Wangji loves him.

“Okay okay, I’ll wake up! I won’t let my husbands efforts go to waste!”

“Wei Ying, it’s time to wake up.” He murmurs softly against his temple. Wei Ying stirs slightly, latching onto Lan Wangji’s robe and whining into his neck. “I have brought you breakfast, love. I need you to eat.”

Lan Wangji sits down by the food, tenderly adjusting Wei Ying in his lap. Wei Ying’s head is cradled by Lan Wangji’s hand that’s holding it against his neck as he begins humming their song, rocking back and forth as he relishes in this moment for a little longer.

and soon he’s hoisting him back into his arms and drying him until he’s ready to be dressed in one of Lan Wangji’s inner robes.

Today was just for them. They had no responsibilities to tend to and thus they were rewarded with a languid morning.

Lan Wangji leaves a warming talisman on the food as he begins their routine. He gently attempts to wake up his husband—which never works—with a plethora of small kisses to his face, only to hear his husband murmur a whiny, “Sleep more er-gege. Good boy…”

feeling his warmth, and filling that greedy need within him to touch his husband for as long as possible. He leaves the Jingshi, coming back with Wei Ying’s breakfast and huffing at the sight of his Wei Ying buried even more into the nest of blankets.

Lan Wangji feels bereft without Wei Ying’s warmth, but his duty to make sure his husband eats a fresh and warm meal overrules his wants for his husband’s needs. He crouches down and kisses his Wei Ying’s forehead, letting his lips linger on his soft skin,

Lan Wangji’s other hand slides down to his bottom, & in a tender motion, he lays him back down comfortably on the bed, tucking him in a cocoon of blankets to keep him warm. His husband easily gets so cold, so Lan Wangji always tries to keep him warm especially with winter fast approaching.

Lan Wangji lets Wei Ying sleep for a while longer, but as the sun rises higher he wants to have his breakfast prepared. So with great willpower, Lan Wangji gets up carefully, gently holding the back of Wei Ying’s head so it doesn’t dangle to the side and roughly wake him up.

comfortably laying on his chest, loving the fact that his Wei Ying always relaxes into a peaceful sleep each night in his arms. Lan Wangji loves to be the person that provides such peace and safety to his baby, his baobei, his everything.
