Again, you *have to* have a Tesco card or your shopping costs even more than the already crazy prices! Do you see how all the arguments against objections amount to tiny gilded class saying “we already treat you like cattle, so it’s stupid for you object to us fucking you in new and exciting ways”.

I’m back to tell you 3 things about ID cards:

1. Migrants ALREADY HAVE biometric ID cards & govts have been trying to digitise them for years w repeated fuckups & failures causing complete chaos - they don’t work, you do not want that system for you.

This whole thing is maddening. The border is not confined to the physical frontiers of this country. It's violence bleeds throughout the entirety of our society. How much are we to be expected to sacrifice in the name of stopping people from migrating and building lives here?

One thing I've not seen discussed much in relation to Labour's digital ID plans is digital exclusion. Thousands of people cannot or don't want to use the internet. People in poverty are far more likely to be digitally excluded.

Are these people to be excluded from the workforce then?

Unless the government introduces PR, there will be a far right government in power in 2029. And like the compliant liberals they always were, the Labour party are building the administrative tools to help those fascists round you and your friends up for deportation. Frightening.

hello I am a deeply unpopular prime minister. In a last gasp attempt to save my own skin my big idea is to launch the least popular policy of an also deeply unpopular predecessor. I am forensic.

These are all great points. I’d also add that we should oppose this out of solidarity with people who are here “illegally” and shouldn’t have to live lives that are even more criminalised, precarious and hunted.

And also that to be autistic is to be a tragedy, a burden on society, a problem that must be solved. This is deeply dangerous stuff.

Some on the left are more ready to contemplate throwing minorities under the bus than to contemplate the ejection of certain toxic officials and inept leaders from senior positions. But real strategic wisdom (and ruthlessness, if you like that sort of thing) lies in the latter, not the former.

Cannot be stressed enough that there is a crucial and fundamental aspect of the Jeffrey Epstein story that directly corresponds with the Jimmy Savile story, to wit: Everybody knew.

The lead boat in the Sumud Flotilla appears to have been struck from above while in Tunis. Not alone that but the claim that "the fire originated on the ship" is propagating across the media.

This is an international civilian aid flotilla. The levels of mistruth and abuse are staggering.
