Vegeta tirelessly trains his Ultra Ego form, finally succeeding in elevating it to Super Ego, which looks the same but with no visible pupils. He now gains power by being very polite and not screaming at people.

Goku catches a rare strain of space-flu which disrupts his ki control and causes him to rapidly and randomly cycle through all his transformations. Goten and Trunks suspend him from a warehouse ceiling to provide lighting for a rave.

Future Trunks, sporting a bright orange mohawk, returns to the past with a warning that Manchester Black is attacking the future. Goku decides to just defer this one to an old sparring buddy.

In an alternate and better reality, a cooler version of Bardock with a power level of 10,000 has a cross-dimensional vision of himself being revered as a patron saint of orphan alien children, and muses that maybe being killed by Freeza isn't such a bad fate after all.

Future Trunks, now with eye-straining bright chartreuse hair somehow, reappears again with a message that the future is under attack by Tullece Black. The rest of the gang is getting pretty sick of this so they just send Vegeta to deal with it on his own. He loses. Should have known better.

Seventeen gets in trouble for his "test of courage" game for poachers where he just jumps out of the bushes and shoots them in the face. Gohan's research paper is poorly received for suggesting that dinosaurs would be better off with feathers.

Gohan and Videl's long-awaited date night is soured when they discover that gaining his new "Beast" form has burdened Gohan with a very unfortunate side effect.

On the plus side, Gohan feels a renewed kinship with Piccolo who, as a Warrior-type Namekian, is likewise unable to make kids.

The overused Dragon Balls spawn a sinister apparition of Shenlong made of black smoke, which then splits into 7 individual evil dragons. After the fugly mole-looking one easily defeats Vegeta, they collectively decide that this version of reality isn't worth bothering with and... just kinda leave.

Geran is visited in the night by three spirits. Arqua reminds him of fond memories of Christmas past, Olivu shares with him the joys of Christmas present, and Paikuhan gives him dire warnings of Christmas future. He awakes and ponders, "what the frig is Christmas?"

Goku is summoned off-world by Broli and Cheelye to help save an alien orphanage, which he learns was founded by his father Bardock during a drinking binge shortly before his death. The strict "no Raditz allowed" rule is concerning but not contested.

After a few days at Kaio's planet, Goku returns to Earth to find that a very poorly worded wish from Bulma to Shenlong has reverted everyone EXCEPT him into a child.

Coola appears on Earth, having observed Freeza's incursions and been biding his time to train and surpass him. After debuting his new "Blue Coola" form and beating Vegeta, he's shocked to discover that Goku has since moved on to silver hair.

The audience is reminded that Oob exists, and Goku is TOTALLY gonna meet him at that tournament AAAAAAAANY time now. Meanwhile, Muten Roshi is informed that he's no longer welcome at his local bookstore.

Goku pushes himself like never before in training to bring the seemingly immeasurable power of Super Instinct 2 under control. Vegeta ponders if something even greater also lies beyond Ultra Ego — perhaps a form with still no eyebrows but even longer hair. Goku stays quiet.

Blue-haired-again Future Trunks warns that Onio Black is attacking the future. Ag, the beloved fan-favorite Kaioshin of Universe 12, reveals the biggest retcon of all time: the Potara never worked with mortals at all, and Vegetto's existence was only a collective hallucination.

Disaster strikes when baby Bra's first word is "Yamcha."

Unable to find anyone else soon enough, Jaco deputizes Chaozu for a mission to pursue a thief who's been stealing entire stars. It turns out to be Champa, who mistakenly thought they were a new set of even bigger Dragon Balls.

Vegeta travels to a mysterious planet at the center of Universe 1 to learn an ancient and forbidden power-inversion technique, which may be the key to defeating Crumpett. It's not. Goku goes Super Instinct 2 and beats him instead.

The universe trembles in terror at the return of Crumpett, a primeval and mind-bogglingly powerful warlord who threatens to envelop the cosmos in darkness for 10 million years. Beerus doesn't step in to fight him because reasons.

Piccolo's dead again.

The Multiverse is put in extreme peril when the Omni-Kings catch a cold and threaten to erase a universe every hour that they remain sick. The Grand Priest gives them some soup and calms them down, but still lets them each wipe out a peaceful and flourishing civilization to help them feel better.

Vegeta emerges victorious when — wait, no, false alarm.

After a quarrel with Trunks, Future Mai travels to the past to spend a few nights at Bulma's place. Trunks doesn't notice she's gone until Gohan Black attacks the future and the time machine is missing.

Goku gets a strange and sporadic itch at the base of his spine for a few hours, but it soon fades because tail-based transformations are too cool for this series.

Vegeta enters the Room of Spirit and Time to find Goku training... with Hit. Hurt and angry, he finds unexpected solace and clarity at Cabba's bar mitzvah. Videl suspects she may be pregnant again, and anguishes over how to tell Gohan.

Freeza's dead again.

Universe 5, feeling shunned from all the inter-universe tournaments happening lately, boldly challenges Universe 7 to a tournament of their own. The final match is Goku versus a stale rice cake who <insert generic tragic backstory here>.

Future Trunks, now with purple hair again, makes another dramatic reappearance, warning of a new timeline-hopping Zamas who has this time hijacked Vegeta's body in order to eradicate all mortals. Vegeta Black is defeated later that same episode.

Goku and Vegeta face off against Stroodel, a foe so terrifyingly powerful that his mere continued existence threatens to make the universe crumble. Toyotaro isn't sure how to remind Toriyama that Yi Xing Long is already a thing.

Hijinks ensue when Pan's 3rd birthday party is accidentally scheduled on the same day as Trunks' 10th. The Pilaf Gang are also there doing... something.
