Eine Ricke und ihr schon relativ große Kitz laufen von rechts nach links über eine Wieso, die im Vordergrund im Schatten weiter hinten in der Sonne liegt.

I walked past a cornfield that had just ended, and out of the corner of my eye I saw this deer and her fawn, startled by an approaching tractor, running toward the cornfield. I just quickly pointed the camera and snapped before they disappeared into the cornfield.

Das Bild zeigt einen kleinen, hellbraunen Weberknecht, der auf einer grauen, Holzoberfläche sitzt. Er ist von vorne fotografiert und man erkennt seinen Körper und seine acht, sehr langen und dünnen Beine. Die Beine sind viel länger als der Körper und strecken sich in alle Richtungen. Der Hintergrund ist unscharf und in verschiedenen Grüntönen gehalten, was einen natürlichen Kontext vermittelt.

Gestatten, ich bin ein Weberknecht. Ich bin ein nützlicher Nützling.
Als "Müllabfuhr" der Natur fresse ich tote Insekten und abgestorbene Pflanzenteile.

five years later I bought myself a Nikon D3200, which I sold last year and replaced with a (used) Sony Alpha 6300. And that one had better last me forever now 😂. 2/2

I’m talking about a span of roughly 15 years from my first analog camera when I was 7-8 years old to my first halfway decent compact digital camera. All the cameras either broke (mostly the battery) or were replaced by better ones. At some point (~2010) I had a Sony Cybershot bridge camera, 1/2

But at least it was a Nikon! I think my first 5–7 cameras (I got the first one back in elementary school) weren’t branded ones and they were pretty terrible tbh 😆.

Drei Igelwelpen

Drei Igelbabys hab ich heute Vormittag abgeholt.
Die Mutter wurde kurz zuvor mit dem Rasenmäher zerstückelt.
Ohne Worte.
Wenigstens wurde der Nachwuchs nicht zum Sterben liegen gelassen wie es in unserer Region manch andere handhaben. Menschen im Mittelalter am Fuße der Rhön. 🙄

These two are feeling super hot 🥵, and since birds can’t sweat like we do, they open their beaks to cool down 🌡️. But it’s kind of their own fault in this case – there was plenty of shade around 🌳. They flew off again pretty soon after 😅.
