Show Your Stripes Visualising how the climate has changed for every country across the globe

showyourstripes.info/c/ocean/all

On show-your-stripes day, this is the graph that concerns me most. Water takes longer than land or air to change temperature, which is why there’s little fluctuation until now.

As goes the ocean, we go too.

Dude, wake up and stop being so naive.

There is no safer location.

We either stop burning fossil fuels or we will all burn.

What we all need to do is a lot more nothing. Our "doing something" produces CO2 in the atmosphere and not much else.

Here's what I tell people these days: live a life that feels right wrt to other people and the planet and enjoy it, especially the weather, because this is the best it will ever be.

Coyotes are virtually everywhere, including NYC.

Coyotes will be around and flourishing long after we are gone.

I take comfort in that.

Which is exactly why people need to stop giving us their take on why the Dems lost.

You hit the reason right on the head, and the heads of the racist, misogynist magats who embrace these loathsome beliefs.

@mattyglesias.bsky.social prides himself on being a contrarian, contrary to anything approaching reality, that is.

He thinks he is clever, but he is a waste of time and energy.

Not for the midterms, not four years....

Forever.

Global heating and its consequences are with us for millennia.

Florida, southern Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama will be gone in decades.

Bad take.

Trump will do whatever he wants regardless of what Biden does.

I'm sure it's way too late to say this: wake up and get real.

A graph titled "Cost of Transport" showing the relationship between body weight (in kilograms) and energy consumption for distance traveled (calories per gram per kilometer) for various animals and machines. It highlights that a person on a bicycle ranks first in efficiency.

A graph titled "Cost of Transport" showing the relationship between body weight (in kilograms) and energy consumption for distance traveled (calories per gram per kilometer) for various animals and machines. It highlights that a person on a bicycle ranks first in efficiency.

A person on a bicycle is by far the most energy-efficient among animals and machines per distance traveled relative to body weight. The bicycle is magic.

Abundance is the problem. Since we’ve waited too long, all abundance is now bad for our climate and us, even if it is RE.

There is no easy way out of the predicament we put ourselves in. Unless, maybe, we figure out how to remove a lot of carbon from the atmosphere. But that won’t be easy either.

Who cares what a dick like you thinks. Look on the mirror and ask yourself why are this way.

I don’t even need to read this article to know that heat is deadly and will contribute to strokes, heart disease, pulmonary disease, diabetes and more.

It’s already happening in Central America.

There is no band that I wanted to love more but couldn’t except for a few songs than Radiohead.

Hate to say it, but depressing music doesn’t mean it’s meaningful or good or even melodic.
