Quite apart from there being a lot more to college than lectures and "merely keeping the terms" to paraphrase Austen, force-feeding students the lectures in half the time leaves them no time to think and consider one chunk of learning before they move on to the next which is a very serious detriment

I visited with them two weeks ago and discussed my research on the civil war women and their prison experiences. Watching them interpret that work was an amazing and thought provoking experience.
