First of all, it's not a "news conference" if he doesn't take any questions. MAGA Mike Johnson is scared.

Secondly, Trump and the GOP lost. They won't admit it, but they did. That's why they are running away rather than taking a victory lap. So stay strong and #VoteBlue.

I was born in Hollis, Queens before my parents and I moved, but my grandparents and extended family stayed there for another 40 years, so I was constantly in the 'old neighborhood.'

Democrat Catelin Drey has FLIPPED Iowa State Senate Seat 1 tonight!

And in doing so, Democrats have ended the GOP Supermajority in the Iowa State Legislature!

This was a Trump +11 district, and the Democrat is ahead by 9 points!

A 20 point swing!

Democrats have drifted from Obama’s unifying vision of Americaβ€”and paid the price. I argue in this piece for the Progressive Policy Institute that they must reclaim Obama’s inclusive, aspirational message that built a multiracial coalition and won twice. www.progressivepolicy.org/how-democrat...

say it again:

4 million people work in higher ed, the largest employer in 10 states, second largest employer in 10 more, and in 60 of the 100 biggest cities

ROI for NIH and NSF for local economies is conservatively 4x, often close to 10x

demolishing higher education is economic sabotage

The Republican Assault on Medicaid Can Be Stopped Their plans are horrific, but the politics are on Democrats' side.

This is a classic β€œwedge issue,” uniting one party and dividing the other. If Dems press hard enough and people understand the horror of what Republicans are attempting, they can be beaten.

The more attention it gets, the better the chances of stopping it:

Trumpism is actually not about restoring good manufacturing jobs. Bringing mass scale toy manufacturing to the US (brutal factory jobs) while gutting unions/regulations (also core ideological commitments of Trumpism) is a recipe for drudgery and subjugation.

Trump’s Horrifying Removal of Man in β€œError” Takes an Even Darker Turn The Trump administration could allow Kilmar Abrego Garcia back into the U.S. and try to deport him through proper channels. So why won’t it even do that?

Don't overlook this: Trump is leaving Abrego Garcia to rot in a foreign gulag even though the admin can always bring him back and *retry him for deportation in a lawful way.* That they won't do this shows their case against him is nonsense.

New piece from me:

Breaking News 3m ago Randy Fine, a state senator, easily won a House seat in Florida, adding to the G.O.P. majority.

This was a choice. Fine won by 8 pts in the district Mike Waltz won by 30 pts just 5 months ago.

That the NYT frames it as β€œeasily won” is a leading reason we are where we are.

Headlines matter. Framing matters.
