Super excited to say that Iβll be serving my Clacton constituents today by flying to Mar-a-Lago to meet Donald Trump and to undermine the UK government. God I love being a patriot!β

Took me nearly twenty minutes when I woke up on Thursday to realise it wasn't Friday morning.
The downside is I feel I've worked six days this week, but the upside is I've had two Friday mornings where I've looked forward to the weekend.

Rachel Reeves is once again making mistakes.
If she really believed in energy security she would plough more money into renewable roll out and electrification, grid scale batteries, and other long term storage.

We need to make it loads easier for residents to do the right thing and decarbonise.
That's why district heating at scale is so important. It allows Councils to do the big infrastructure changes, put in place the planning and grants, so residents can react in a timely manner.
No time to work out if we could get a grant for an Air Source Heat Pump.
No time to see if we'd need planning permission.
No time to get quotes for an ASHP, and work out where we'd have to put everything.
Who has time to plan to decarbonise in that level of detail just in case?

So, we ordered a new gas boiler on the Monday, which came with a 10 year warranty, and was fitted by the end of the week.
I wish we'd had more time, but when you're faced with no heating nor hot water, there was no time to engage with the DNO to see if we could upgrade the electricity supply.

Have just fitted a new gas boiler. Disappointed in myself, but can't work out what else we could have done.
The 8 year old gas boiler died last week. Engineer was brilliant, but the idea of throwing Β£800 in parts and labour at it with no long term certainty of reliability wasn't appealing.

Unfortunately its always "other" drivers that are the issue.
When drivers speed down someone else's street to save a few seconds, that's fine. But when other drivers speed down their own street, that's absolutely wrong.
Same outside schools, wrong for "other" drivers to do it, but OK for them to.
