Finished 5 books in June. Not Quite By The Book by Julie Hatcher. The God Of The Woods by Liz Moore. By Jennifer L. Armentrout: From Blood And Ash, A Kingdom Of Flesh And Fire, A Crown Of Gilded Bones. #booksky
No colorful pictures for me tonight, but the moon, stars, and clouds still made for a lovely night in the #CarsonValley #NorthernNevada
It’s hot 🥵 out there in Northern #Nevada but I (re)planted some roses, cleaned up some debris from recent wind storms, and admired my potatoes as they take over my vegetable bed. #CarsonValleyLife #GardenSky #GardeningFeed
That’s very cool! Where do I find that online?
My old man. #caturday
May reads. I was hellbent on finishing a series, so Witchcraft for Wayward Girls stands out and was very interesting. Tower of Dawn was my favorite read of the month. #BookSky
April reads. #BookSky
Does anyone know of some good resources or a company that does taking for paraprofessionals? Not necessarily focused on creating a teaching pipeline, but wanting to build up the support staff. #EduSky
Everything comes with trade offs. To finance this our grants for early childhood inclusion were cut. We had an electric bus. We need ADA compliant facilities.
I’m complaining about the snow because I worked hard setting up my spring garden last week. But it’s so nice to have a reasonable excuse to spend a lazy Saturday curled up with my cat, coffee, and a good book. #CarsonValleyLife
Years ago I laughed when Sheldon checked if vaccines were recommended for travel to a different part of Southern California. Today I got an MMR booster to prepare for an upcoming trip to Texas. #RealityToday
Between the disappearing of humans by the American government and the death of grandfather I’ve didn’t the last few weeks retreating; into work, into books, into sleep. It’s all too heavy. I spent the last two days putting my hands in dirt and planting pretty and tasty things.

My Grandpa Phillips was born on Oahu in 1927. He was playing on the beach when Japanese bombers flew overhead in 1941. He and Grandma raised 4 sons, who raised 7 grandchildren, who are raising 15 great-grandchildren. At 97 years old, after almost 75 years of marriage, we laid him to rest yesterday.
@liarae.bsky.social and I got to speak to high schoolers about career opportunities in our school district. It’s important to get to know the aspirations of our youth, and to help them see all of the wild possibilities that exist. Schools don’t just employ teachers. #EduSky
I love my new bag! This was my annual “I filed taxes and adulted” refund splurge purchase.
March reads. Enjoyed them all, but The Message was just beautiful. #BookSky 💙📚
Although we are headed into “third winter” there are some signs of spring. #CarsonValleyLife
One of my goals this year was to treat myself to some things I know I’ll enjoy. Tonight was Labyrinth, one of my favorite movies, with live music. It was amazing! Ah, the movie that created unhealthy relationship goals in an entire generation. 😝
I’m happy my grandpa had a healthy, active 97 years of life. Even as this is the best possible scenario, watching someone you love through hospice isn’t easy.
Except Texas has introduced legislation making it a felony to claim to be anything other than what your birth certificate says. Penalty of two years in prison.
Sitting in a quiet house listening to my Woodwick candle and the very violent wind. The storms are coming. But this feels like peace to me #CarsonValleyLife
No backsies!!
I want a “romantasy” where women don’t come into their powers until 40. The most powerful are childfree & they spend their lives battling against men who try to impregnate them to take their power away.
these are our party leaders now, ignore all other opinions
Content to snuggle on a #Caturday .
Happy PI Day! #AlphaDeltaPi
I used my office ChatGPT for a project today and my boss saw that I didn’t thank it when I was done. I’m trying not to humanize the technology. He told his AI, who told him to tell me that “they” would remember my lack of courtesy in the uprising. I’m amused and disturbed. #WhoIsRight ?
Was out sick and came in to work today to find this on my desk. #BookSky 💙📚
Under a winter storm watch to begin Tuesday at 11pm through Thursday. Expecting 9 inches to 47 inches above 4000 ft. That’s a huge range and not terribly high up. I’m supposed to drive to Sacramento for work Thursday morning. Oh, decisions. #MountainLife
