2023 - Fireworks - Higher Lonely Power

Ever see a man cry when a band announces a reunion. Hi it's me.

Fireworks means a lot to me and when they surprise dropped HLP on new year's day 2023, I lost my mind. After 4 years of nothing they were back.

I adore this album and this band. That is all.

Seeing Enter Shikari tonight. Last time I saw them earlier this year I thought the guy next to me was high off his tits.I saw him do a bump shortly after.

2023 - Hitohara - Tsukuru

This album is in Japanese. I do not speak Japanese. I like this album a lot.

It has such a nostalgic feel and sound, as a fan of the twinkly, tappy guitars, lyrics aren't always needed for me to enjoy an album but the singers voice is amazing which makes it even better.

2023 - Spanish Love Songs - No Joy

I was an orbiter of this band for a while, Brave Faces Everyone was on my rotation but I never committed.

'Haunted' changed it all for me, instantly shooting to the top of my playlists for months.

A wonderful expression of pain but brimming with hope.

2023 - Good Hangs - Great Hangs

There are a lot of songs on this album at 16, but it doesn't get stale or old at all throughout the 52 minute run time.

'I Only Do Pushups' is a standout for me but an overall great album.

2023 - Hot Mulligan - Why Would I Watch?

This one is a bonafide banger. 12 songs that'll ruin your day and steal your lunch money.

This album has HMs best instrumentation by far and is full of lyrics that acknowledge the narrators issues whilst also actively choosing not to fix them.

2022 - Arm's Length - Never Before Seen, Never Again Found.

I arrived late to this band and realised very quickly what I was missing. Extremely emotive and thought provoking lyrics meet with catchy music.

One of my favourite gigs from this year at the Night and Day Café in Manchester.

What could be funner to stave off the seasonal depression than talking about my favourite emo albums of the last few years?
