when movies get deleted for tax reasons, they should legally become public domain. people should be allowed to upload it anywhere they want. that's the tradeoff you make if you wanna delete your own movie released this year for a few extra bucks, and i think it's fair

As a Reddit moderator who isn't joining the protest, I was afraid of expressing my opinion in discussion threads because everyone that didn't agree 100% with the organisers was receiving a lot of hate and being downvoted to oblivion. So they're the opposite of democratic.

A Reddit admin said in a comment that while moderators have a right to protest, they have to keep the site "operational", implying they will demote them if they don't reopen their subreddits. They will just make those subreddits available for request.
