Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance required 9,852 theatrical pyrotechnics, nearly 400 costumed extras, and a lot of ingenuity.

And yes, that was a real couple featured in the wedding.

There are hidden risks in changing vaccination policies. When some are vaccinated and some aren’t, infections move to older children and adults, including pregnant people—raising risks for those most vulnerable, such as varicella or rubella causing congenital infections and stillbirths.

As an official spokesman for everyone, we hereby state that we don't give a fuck about Bill Clinton. Attacks on him mean less than nothing to us. We DO NOT CARE.

As you were.

Elon Musk is like a cardiac surgeon performing a heart transplant who opens the patient, removes the heart & leaves b/c he had no idea what he was doing. The difference is after Musk removed the heart, the people left behind refuse to fix government & will let it die.

"These are kids who will never pay taxes," Kennedy declared. "They'll never hold a

Someone once said NextDoor is the social network for dogs if they could type. It’s always “what’s that noise?” and “who’s that stranger?” which is exactly what I imagine my dogs would text other neighborhood dogs.

Think of a time when someone stood up for you. Maybe they were scared. But they did it. Think about how it felt to know you weren't alone. Try and do that for other people, even if you're scared.

If no one stood up for you? I'm so sorry--you deserved support. Don't let others feel alone too.

It should go without saying* that firing the people you've most recently hired is bonehead move for any organization. Almost by definition, they are the people who you need for your new approaches, products and problems.

Bird flu? ✔️
AI/ML? ✔️
Next-gen weather models? ✔️

*it did not go w/o saying.

'Completely Miserable': The Trump Administration Has Ground NIH and the National Cancer Institute to a Halt Splinter is your home for news and opinions that challenge power in our political and economic system that's becoming more unhinged each and every day.

Here's my latest on what's happening inside NCI and NIH. I've seen emails and directives about a lot of this now. There's so much bad stuff.

And this is why I am no longer arguing with racists and/or performative leftists. I used to get into long arguments with them. I lost followers even because of this at the old place. My followers understood that just b/c you are using facts does not mean common sense would kick in.

One of the most alarming things about the rise of social media and the gutting of traditional media is seeing how so many people are vulnerable to conspiracy theories, and not even the believable kind, but the "Mickey Mouse lives in the sewer and kidnaps children" kind.

I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time - when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the key manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness. The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30-second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance.

Today would have been Carl Sagan's 90th birthday. He wrote this in 1995. Carl was absolutely right. #CarlSaganDay

The Right has long sought to build a media and information ecosystem capable of rivaling or surpassing legacy media and traditional media.

The internet allowed them to do it. And liberals have not kept up.

The level of sophistication on the right is unmatched. That must change.
