Headteacher of the primary school I went to when I was little. Worked here for over 20 years and still love it. We were evacuated 16/01/23. Can’t wait to be back together as one school. Also love books.

Very scary having to talk in front of a room full of adults rather than a hall full of children.
On the bus yesterday caught one of them reading this ❤️📚
Instant hit of nostalgia and excited for the adventure she’s about to go on.
And they wonder why we struggle to recruit in the areas where we need school staff the most 🙄

I couldn’t be more proud of the resilience our children and staff have shown throughout it all.
Meanwhile at the EYFS and KS1 temporary building, on the playground of our old school building, it is definitely feeling like spring has sprung 🌸🌷
Every morning our KS2 children gather in the closed down church.
That’s where we wait for the buses that take us to our temporary building on the high school tennis court.
I love it when I see them choosing to use that time to squeeze in a couple more chapters of their book.

The matches take place on the Peace Pitch at Barrow Celtic Juniors which is one of less than 100 pitches that are part of the Children’s Football Alliance.
