That’s a lot to ask when everyone is exhausted. City looked bad yesterday but they have a fitter squad than us.

Taking the positives from the last month - we’re still in a good position in every competition, despite our attack struggling. But we don’t win the trophies we want without players getting fitter and coming back in to form. We might need a tactical tweak too.

We definitely copied from Brentford but they also cottoned on to a wider trend towards legal marginal gains, which a number of clubs/ multi-club structures were exploring. In part because they're run by a gambling guy who gets data.

That... would be the worst food on earth. Excluding all chilli and flavor to appeal to the 'sensible center.'

I’d say don’t. If it went ahead heavy snow will start during your trip. Best case scenario is a longer trip. Worst case is.. well, not great.

Big Tech Says Generative AI Will Save the Planet. It Doesn't Offer Much Proof A new report finds that of 154 specific claims about how AI will benefit the climate, just a quarter cited academic research. A third included no evidence at all.

when big tech companies say that AI will save the planet, what kinds of AI are they actually talking about — and what's their proof? i took a look at some great new research from @ketanjoshi.co and talked to other experts about how a lot of this talk is probably bullshit:

New series of Industry is very close the Wirecard fraud. But somehow less dramatic and insane.

This is also true for difficult or 'controversial' policy and legislation.

You will lose sometimes. Even often. But you can lose badly - shrink away from ambition, give concessions to the opposition for free, stop trying at all - or you can lose well.

In the most tragi-comic fashion imaginable. Possibly while freaking out about China building more aircraft carriers.

UN Climate Chief: Climate action can deliver stability in face of 'new world disorder' Simon Stiell stresses climate action is 'indisputably' in every nation's self-interest, as he warns those shirking leadership are gifting a 'goldmine' to rivals

China’s Emissions Fell Last Year in First Decline Since 2022 China’s carbon dioxide emissions fell 0.3% in 2025, the first annual decline since Covid-era restrictions in 2022 — and more importantly, a reduction that’s happened even as energy demand growth remai...

Has China peaked emissions? We may not know for years to come, but new analysis from @laurimyllyvirta.bsky.social shows CO2 emissions fell by 0.3% last year — the first time China has recorded a decline while energy demand growth remained strong. Free link here: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

With this big tech AI spending presumably they have internal hurdle rates? So, what kind of mad revenue are they predicting and how soon?

While we know many ships were attacked by large, Octopus-like creatures over the past few centuries, have you considered that those ships were largely Spanish Galleons, and so we assumed that such attacks were part of the normal order of things.

The tendency to reward and focus on "converts" in media/ politics can lead to perverse incentives. Was so frequent in climate world and, tbh, a lot of these people were just chasing easy foundation money and contributing nothing.

As Mamdani pushes bike lanes, Brooklyn's Bedford Avenue looms large South Williamsburg's powerful Orthodox Jewish community has spent decades fighting against bike lanes on Bedford Avenue.

Honestly, I'm guessing they chose this block for a reason gothamist.com/news/as-mamd...

Eric Adams actually dug up the bike lane right round the corner from here on Myrtle and Bedford so we're less likely to be riding down it

India's electrification shortcut! ⚡️🇮🇳

Solar, wind, batteries, electric vehicles...India's economy has different tools available than the US and China did at the same stage in their economic development.

The result? An early turn away from fossil molecules towards electrons.

And, tbf, growing up outside of the US and then coming here. The knowledge of the bad things the US government has done elsewhere is often shockingly low/ we get taught a lot about US foreign policy f-ups in New Zealand high schools.

eh, I mean that's the history of this app and arguably Twitter too and regularly in reverse. Lots of people are annoying. Lots of people kinda hate America (my lovely mum in her 70s certainly does). But when asked they mean the President or foreign policy. Most people like other people.

It is about politics, power, and legitimacy though. All of which are harder, involve longer-term investments, sticking to a strategy, a little more courage, and less magical thinking about polling and messaging (and yes, I've done far too much polling and messaging myself).

I feel like I've been through about ten cycles of this.
The issue remains the same - you're not going to magically rebrand it, nor win through special words. Plus reducing the problem to energy leads to bad policy. Preparing for the impacts of climate change is essential.
