So many of you have read / re-read Peter Benchley's #JAWS this year for the 50th anniversary of the movie.

What are your thoughts on the source novel?

The Orca started sinking. Spielberg sent boats to save the actors. Sound mixer John R. Carter, water to his knees, holds his Nagra overhead and screams:

“F**k the actors, save the sound department!”

(The film stock survived too—it turns out developer solution is saline.) #jaws

RIP Robert Redford 1936-2025

Robert was an early choice for one of the lead characters in #JAWS.

According to director Steven Spielberg, the prop arm looked too fake in the scene where Chrissie’s remains are discovered, so instead, they buried a local waitress (Andrea Muir) in the sand with only her arm exposed.

Steven Spielberg reunited with his Fabelmans' star Julia Butters inside our new JAWS exhibition and yes, the shark even makes an appearance. Together they looked back on one of Steven’s greatest works as we celebrate 50 years of #JAWS.
