I was gifted the Ento-Light by the friend who developed it. They are not inexpensive. Made in Arizona, USA. I’m on my phone. At some point I will try and remember to add a link, from my computer, a device I know how to operate better.

Interesting. Thank you, I am following you now. I do need to find references about Indigenous economies….

A blacklight suspended in front of a white sheet clamped to a wooden fence, with a dim white light shining on the sheet as well, at night, outdoors. This setup is meant to attract moths and other nocturnal insects.

Decided to put out the blacklight for the first time this year, in our back yard in Leavenworth, Kansas, USA. Several kinds of moths, plus midges and other flies, lacewings, a few beetles. I will get a blog post up soon and post the link. #bugsky

Small, elongate jumping spider, beige in color with darker brown markings, crawling on the painted wood railing of our front porch, on a sunny day.

In honor of Save A Spider Day, here’s a crummy phone photo of an immature White-jawed Jumping Spider on our front porch railing today. Leavenworth, Kansas, USA. #bugsky #spiders #saveaspiderday #arachnid

I’m already following you, and it looks like our philosophies are at least similar, so I wonder at what scale you mean, what industries you consider beneficial at a large scale.

Pardon the interruption, but *scale* is what is wrong with *everything*, especially resource extraction, agriculture, urban sprawl. Everything is way too big, and people and ecosystems suffer. Capitalism will never deliver what we need most: a livable planet.

My books about insects could help with that if you want to be fascinated, laugh a little, and learn things. 😊 I have a few copies on hand, DM if you want a signed copy.

There *is* no “middle class” today, only a DEBT CLASS. Personal debt isn’t even figured into calculations for the poverty line. Credit is how the oligarchs create the *illusion* of a middle class.

Also, I apologize, I thought I was already following your account. I am now.

This is the first thing I have read today. Powerful. Brings tears to me, too. You are a rare gift to the world.

Wow. We are considering moving to Albuquerque, but I’m not really liking what I’m reading here. We don’t want to become part of the problem. Great writing, btw!

Just discovered your account through a comment on another post, and I am delighted. Thank you for your words, best or not.

On the bright side, one more legitimate excuse for a general strike, if you can’t afford the commute?

We are in northeast Kansas right now and the “politics” are intolerable. We are eyeing Albuquerque for our final move. The major drawback is, shockingly, healthcare. Malpractice penalties are so harsh that doctors are fleeing in droves. I’m 65….

Medicare is NOT FREE. I’m paying more in premiums than I have in the previous four years from the “Obamacare marketplace.” Just saying. Don’t get me wrong, I am completely opposed to private insurance interfering in healthcare.

I’m a complete slacker when it comes to self promotion, but I did think of a couple ideas during the webinar. Also learned about AWP, unfortunately too late for this year’s conference.

My partner grew up here, but I think I have convinced her we need to move. We are eyeing Albuquerque for its more progressive culture, affordability, and high biodiversity, but willing to entertain other suggestions. I’m 65, so health care becomes a priority.

The City Commission of Leavenworth, Kansas, USA, approved a Special Use Permit for CoreCivic to operate a currently vacant prison as an ICE detention center, by a vote of 4-1. Most think the City feared a lawsuit (and lost tax revenue) if it didn’t comply. This town is dead to me.
