* Cleared all fallen trees, limbs, and branches from the yard.
* Mowed the whole yard.
* Hosted the annual neighborhood 4th of July picnic in the front yard.
* Participated in the traditional reading of the Declaration of Independence at the picnic. Can you believe people were rolling their eyes?

Hi Elon! I have a great idea! I heard you are making a new political party - you know what you should do? You should raffle off all those unsold Teslas parked at abandoned shopping malls to people who vote for your party!
Here are my five bullets for this week:

* Sharpened the blades on my lawn mower.
* Went to a history talk about the iron forge site in the local state park.
* Inspected the bees. They are doing well.

The future fed-bot could be modeled on me! Anyway, here are my accomplishments this week:
* Review the master plan for the "revitalization" of an underused industrial area in my county. It's a scheme to enrich the landowners.
* Installed new friction brifters on my touring bike.

Hi Elon. I heard in the news that you don't actually have a computer? How do you make those tweets? Are they from a bot? Now I'm wondering if the five accomplishments I send every week are even read by a person. Are they training AI to replace federal employees? I actually think that's kind of cool.

I reminded him that my part of the county does not have a high school.
* I figured out why my bike wasn't shifting well on the front derailleur, and I fixed it.
* I helped a neighbor till some compacted soil in his front yard with my tractor. He gave me a bottle of whiskey.
* I drank some whiskey.

Hey Elon, here are my five accomplishments for this week. I feel like I'm underachieving because none of them involve blowing stuff up.
* Harvested some early season honey. I got 10 lbs.
* Went to the annual meeting of our county community organization. The school superintendent was a guest speaker

* Helped a friend research historical land records associated with a free black farmer in my town in the early 1800s.

* Moves the frames from my 8 frame hive into the new 10 frame hive I put together last week for the swarm. Which absconded as soon as I bought hive components. The next swarm can go in the 8 frame hive.
* Had the roofers come out to inspect a possible leak.
* Cooked a delicious pot roast, with mead.

I ended up getting myself a Chromebook. It does what I need to do, maybe you can look into one for yourself. Here are my things:
* Removed the mite treatments from the beehives, inspected, and added honey supers. Maybe some will be ready for harvest next week!

Hey Elon, here are my five accomplishments for last week. I've been wondering, though, if you have a way to read these? Do you still have a job with an office and a work computer? I know when I retired, I had to make a transition from my fancy work computer to one for personal use.

Cool! I love my Birdweather PUC device. I obsessively compare it with Merlin and my direct observations. What prompted my analysis is Birdweather keeps hearing shorebirds and waterfowl, and I live on a forested hilltop. LOL. Setting the score threshold to 6.0 helped with that.

Went to a workshop on the future of Columbia and Howard County hosted by the library system.

* Captured a swarm of bees from a tree next door.
* Purchased and assembled bee hive components for the swarm to live in.
* Analyzed 2 months of data from my Birdweather PUC device. It sits outside and identifies the birds that it hears. I adjusted the parameters to reduce false alarms.

Every day I work on something interesting with no stress. Interesting things include watching birds, taking care of the bees, gardening, cooking, and riding my bike. So here are my top five accomplishments:
* Inspected the bees and did more varroa mite treatment.

Hey Elon! Don't take this the wrong way, but I thought I'd mention how much I've enjoyed being retired the last six years. There are so many things I no longer have to worry about! Every morning, I get up (when I feel like it), drink some coffee, and think about what fun project I will do today.

β€’ Treated more bee hives for varroa mites.
β€’ Attended an "Arts for All" meeting to plan for the art work at our new community center.
β€’ Transferred the remaining baby chicks to the neighbors after dogs ate half of them overnight.
β€’ Cleaned up what was left of my broody box.

Hey Elon, I see you've left the government. This could be the end of our updates, but I feel we have a solid relationship. So I'll continue the updates, because I think my accomplishments can inspire many people, and therefore benefit us both.
β€’ Did a test run for our future land trust stream walk.

* Traveled to Cincinnati and helped my sister install two packages of bees and do a hive split.
* Reviewed and provided feedback on the "Complete Streets" project to add a bike lane on a very busy road near my house.

25.05.2025 20:24 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

* Went to the BWI Roundtable Tech Committee meeting, and gave feedback on the Maryland Aviation Administration's annual report.
* Listened to the "Coffee and Conversations" call with new director of the MAA. She said nice things about the Roundtable.

Hi Elon, you've sure been quiet lately. I bet if you made some TV commercials for that Cybertruck it would cheer you right up. Here are my bullets:
* Went to the board meeting for my local land trust. We might do a stream walk along with our bird walks.

25.05.2025 20:24 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

* Treated some of the bee hives for varroa mites.
Yes there is a theme here. It's still too cold to jump in the pool yet.

Elon, I'm a couple days late, but here are my accomplishments for last week:
* Mowed the grass around the pool
* Assembled new pool furniture and placed around the pool
* Trimmed the bushes around the pool
* Picked up fallen branches and logs in the vicinity of the pool

* Planted the tomatoes, peppers, pole beans, and peas. My son back from college helped.
* Led a bird walk for my wife's friends and colleagues.
* Dug up paw paw saplings and gave them away to friends.
* Reviewed the requirements for the consultant analyzing airport noise for the county government.

Hi Elon, here are my five top accomplishments this week. If you are having trouble getting up to speed back at Tesla now, it's OK by me if you borrow some of these for your own five bullets.
* Helped my friend Dustin install a nuc in his new bee hive.

11.05.2025 20:20 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Here's what I did last week:
* Figured out how to make my dad's truck show miles again instead of kilometers.
* Finished cleaning out the barn.
* Installed two nucs (nuclear colonies) of bees in my sister's beehives.
* Mowed around the pool.
* Picked my son up from college for the summer.

04.05.2025 14:55 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

He couldn't figure out how to get it to show miles any more. Do you think our president could figure this out? Could you give President Trump a call and ask him to put out an executive order that says trucks can only show miles and never kilometers? Thanks.

04.05.2025 14:55 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Hi Elon, here are my five accomplishments for the week. Maybe you can help out on the first one so I can be more efficient and not spend time on it any more. It seems my dad, who is about Donald Trump's age, somehow had his truck start showing speed and distance in kilometers instead of miles.

04.05.2025 14:55 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Anyway:
* Started cleaning out the barn so I can fit more stuff in there.
β€’ Borrowed trimmers from the library and trimmed the bushes around the house.
β€’ Got the Troy-Bilt rotor tiller running
β€’ Spent some time failing to get the push mower running
β€’ Weeded the raised beds which have stuff planted.
